Hi, I'm Kathy, but you can call me Kat.

I'm an Objectivist in the Chicago area. I am a presentation specialist (aka chartmonkey) currently working in mergers and acquisitions. I am also the mother of two fantastic kids.

I am the Leader of the Romance forum (often referred to as "the kitchen").  I am engaged to Michael Stuart Kelly, who I met here when it was SoloHQ.  I just can't stop purring...  He is my dream come true and he calls me kitten.

Michael and I host Objectivist Living. Stop by and visit our online home at www.objectivistliving.com

"Property of the Colonel.
If found, please return to the kitchen... purrrrrrrrrrr"

Atlas Shrugged
Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand

The story of people finding the moral conviction to live their own lives, and of a man who stops the motor of the world to pave the way.  This is Ayn Rand's magnum opus. It is her comprehensive philosophical novel, dealing with each of the major categories of philosophy. This book lays down the basis of her entire philosophy in a compelling story. ...

i-feminists - The home for individualist feminism on the net. This site discusses issues of gender and individualism from a more objectivist friendly perspective. Individualist feminism, or ifeminism, advocates the equal treatment of men and women as individuals under just law. The core principle of individualist feminism is that all human beings have a moral and legal claim to their own persons and property. It is sometimes called libertarian feminism. Affirmative Action Bake Sale
Affirmative Action Bake Sale

I heard about this one when I went to Andrew Bernstein's lecture at Northwestern University.....  Northwestern has a campus objectivism club and they held a bake sale as a fund/consciousness raiser.  They got into all kinds of trouble and were almost shut down for their bake sale.  They priced their items according to the race of the customer just ... The Pretenders

Okay, enough with the Mario Lanza love feast and the continuing praises of classical music; I'm sure there are other Objectivists who love good old American rock, besides me (and I'm sorry, Jake Moore, but heavy metal doesn't do it for me). Rock doesn't get any better than the Pretenders with the amazing vocal stylings of Chrissie Hynde. And... (See the whole review)

Are religious principles like turning the other cheek really anti-Objectivism? There goes that little child inside me again. He tells me that Ayn Randís heroes turned the other cheek all the time in her fiction. (Read more...)
