I feel honored to have become valuable enough to SOLO to warrant some good natured ribbing from the Founder and Principal in a major conference announcement.

Liz, I posted SOLOC 4 as an event to many local Ayn Rand Meetups but made clear that you expected payment before the fact.  Hopefully, we will have no Meetup moochers attempting to crash the party.

I look forward to seeing y'all.
Ahh, it seems my master plan of countrying SOLO is working.  Mr. Articulate is now saying "y'all".  And he even contracted it correctly!

Just a question. Will the talks and discussions be recorded or presented on solo at a later date or is the content only to be available to paying attendees? Not that I am mooching of course!

Not sure about this conference, but talk and discussions from SOLOC 1.0 and 2.0 are both either somewhere on the SOLO server (the latter), or in tape form on my bookshelf (the former. And very enjoyable they are too.

I feel sure that should they be made available on CD or by download from the SOLO store then conference fever might induce a few punters to part with some cash for these morsels?

How say you punters?

TO ALL SOLO C4 ATTENDEES:

Much more important than the satisfaction of moochers is the satisfaction of carnivores. So, an announcement:

I've always wanted to plan a steak night for the conference at the best steakhouse in the world (that I'm aware of), Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. It will be about a 40-60 minute drive from the conference site, depending on traffic. But it is truly sublime. And, obviously expensive: it goes about $60-70 per person (entree, appetizer, dessert).

With Joe we decided not to make this something formal but to announce it around now, to see if there's enough interest even among a small number of people. So, whoever would be interested in coming, please speak now on this thread! I need to make reservations in advance, even if there's only a handful of people.

Thanks,

Alec

I will sincerely miss being with you all.  :(  Alec, eat an extra steak for me, please.  And all of you, imbibe lots of high-quality wine.

Barbara, there's something special on its way for you.  :)

:(  I know.  But I'll be with you in spirit.  (Spirits?)

I've got a new magazine layout to get finished, a chef interview to conduct, about five articles to write, and clients to manage.  In the next few days.

Oh, and there's that tax thing.

Be sure to drink a LOT on my behalf.

Alec,

The steak sounds great.  I'm in if I can catch a ride with someone since I won't have a car.

Okay, assuming Joe's in, I've got 6 and counting...

While other attendees make up their mind, Conference Masters Linz and Joe, please tell me which night we should do it, so I can make the reservation as soon as the numbers are in.

No, Luke, you can't come. Not unless you've mastered the Franklin Covey 12 steps to steak-eating.

Alec & all - Saturday night would be good for this, no?

Tim Visser - will you be playing the Moonlight Sonata at SOLOC 4? If so, you won't be safe from me. But don't let that stop you. :-)

Spirits, steak, and so far no women?  I'm in.

Sorry, Jennifer, I couldn't resist.  But I am VERY truly disappointed beyond words that you won't be there.  Just hire me as a ghostwriter and I'll write your five articles.  Or something.
Damn you and your ambition.

And I can promise to assist Alec in drinking plenty on your behalf.  It'll be one for Jennifer, two for me, three more for Jennifer, four more for me...Oh God help you all.

Tim Visser - will you be playing the Moonlight Sonata at SOLOC 4?
You know, I gave Mr V the music for the Chopin Nocturne in E-flat major, and blow me down if he didn't play the thing passably on first sight.

No pressure or anything though Mr V :-)
