Michael,

Do you gleefully twist the truth to advance yourself and the status of your allies in a deliciously clever way?

Do you derive a perverse rush of vanity and superiority over the rest of us "stupid humans" when you use sophistry in order to trick them into going along with you and thereby cheat reality?

Celeste

Celeste,

You're being pretty brutal to one of the nicer guys on this forum.  And if you really seem to have the agenda you appear to be advocating, why are you wasting time posting on a forum and not trying to beat the Muslims at their own game.

Yes that is refering to the bombing. If they are that imminent of a threat why aren't you organizing your own cross continental vigilante terrorist/anti-terrorist squad, that really seems like the only option you're advocating.

Before commenting on this little row, I'll go ahead and call everyone's attention to something I said in the first post in this thread:

Celeste is new and can be forgiven for not knowing any better

Celeste then wrote:

Um, not to disturb your rollicking good time at the expense of something serious... but did you actually have no plans to post this news story anywhere?

By the way, you boys are quite shamelessly sadistic when it comes to flaunting your power.  Or am I reading you wrong?

Posting this as an article was my mistake and my fault, Celeste. As I said, you were new and I'm sure unaware of the SOLO policy about article postings. But no, I didn't really think it was my job to respost your submission as a news link. SOLO's members do that. Editing the articles in the queue and getting them ready for submission is the "courtesy" I provide. It's not my job to hold the hand of every wayward SOLO member who submits something we can't use. Nor was I being "sadistic" by simply adhering to our long-running policies on this sort of thing. (I put the word "article" in quotes because, by SOLO's definitions, this wasn't an article.)

For my part, I thought the rollicking good time we were having was at my expense--I was trying to use some self-deprecating humor to make light of my accidental article post. I'm sorry to see that that humor was lost on you.

By the way, you could show a little more respect to the people who spend a big chunk of their evening--every day--to make this site work. I'm sorry that the five minutes you spent copying a quote out of a news story and submitting it to the article queue were (temporarily) for nought. For my part, I spent about 90 minutes yesterday making revisions to one proposed article, and getting today's pair of articles ready to run as well. So in the future, I'd appreciate it if you would postpone your ire long enough to understand why we make decisions like deleting your article, and to find one of the many alternate avenues (like news links) we provide for you to contribute content.

Landon,

Celeste ain't being brutal. She's being a spoiled brat. LOLOL...

But I still don't have a handle on her. Underneath the abrasiveness and vituperative adjectives, there might be a good guy in there somewhere. Gotta read her posts first. Only later tonight or tomorrow. (But I really want to finish an article tomorrow - let's see.)

Marcus Bachler said: Maybe Celeste and Orion Reasoner should shack up together? ;-)

You know Marcus; I think I may need to see a psychiatrist. After reading your post I went through the strangest mental process, which I will relate in the next few paragraphs; tell me if you think I am going insane.

You see, one of my new hobbies is astronomy. For some ridiculously crazy reason I made a connection between that, and your post.

Basically, astronomy is the study of celestial bodies; and let me tell you, the study of celestial bodies can be quite difficult. For example, just recently I was observing the constellation, Orion, through my telescope. Just in case you don’t know, Orion is one of the original 48 constellations named by Ptolemy in his famous work, Almagest. In Greek mythology Orion is said to have been the son of Atlas, who was the grandson of the earth mother Gaia. Today, those original constellations have been expanded to 88. But the original 48 still stand, with names like Orion and Cygnus. Cygnus is another fascinating constellation; because of its unique pattern, it is sometimes known as the NorthernCross.

Tell me Marcus, and be brutally honest, am I having a Michael Marotta moment?

George

George-
Orion is my favorite constellation to wander around with the telescope.  Please do not associate it in any way with Celeste.

All kidding aside, have you been able to spot the Horsehead yet?  I havent, but I just picked up a 10" dobs and hope to get to some dark skies soon.

Hahahahahaha George.

Let's just come out and say it. Do you think that Orion Reasoner and Celeste Norcross are one and the same person, being that the first is a pseudonym and the second has all the fixings?

The style so far sure seems similar. The position too.

Dayaamm! I hope not.

I thought I was writing to a woman. As a Southern gentleman, I was extending the fair sex the benefit of the doubt. Egads, have I been tricked?

Has someone gleefully twisted the truth to advance himself/herself in a deliciously clever way? Did someone derive a perverse rush of vanity and superiority over me, "stupid human," when he/she used sophistry in order to trick me into going along with him/her and thereby cheat reality?

LOLOLOLOLOLOL...

I've been duped! Hats off to Michael Marotta. I always did like him.

Yes, I have.

A couple of gentlemen from Sicily left one at the foot of my bed.

I too wondered if Orion and Celeste are one and the same individual.  Perhaps Adam Reed could trace the IP address for us and see....

To trace the IP I would need server logs. I do not think that the management have ever disclosed any part of SOLO server logs to anyone.

I just reviewed Celeste's posts (interestingly enough, most of which I had already read, but within the context of the respective thread at the time and not the Orion Norcross adventure).

What did I find now?

Same galaxy. Same style. Same intelligence. Same talent for turning a phrase. Same hatred of Islam. Same paranoia. Same thin skin. Same short fuse.

I love you George.

Orion/Celeste, you are basically one of the good guys, but very, very scared. (Actually, I don't think I can get around your attitude, but I would love to discuss strategies for getting reason into the Islamic world with you. I do have a few ideas that I intend to implement.)

But that paranoia of yours comes in bursts. It always did in your posts. (I was going to ask if you snorted cocaine, but Kat told me it reminded her too much of a recent article).

No question in my mind this is Orion. Well spotted, whoever did it. Cordero, was it? Trust someone with a conspiratorial mindset to spot another! Hahahaha! Anyway, Orion/Celeste is now under moderation. He's a tragedy in my book. I used to love his passionate diatribes against the vileness of Islam. But when he got genocidal, I had to draw the line. Took me a while, given my loathing of the weasel-worders who were beating up on me to banish him. Such a waste of a talent that is way beyond the combined mediocrity of the weasel-worders combined & multiplied indefinitely.

Well, I'll be dog. I was about ready to bark: "Look, dogs. Cat fight! Cat fight!" But it now seems one was a dog in a cat costume. He'd put on new threads and found a thread to fight over. Now Linz has leashed him. Arf! Time to nap again.

I want to be clear about something that might not have been clear. I quote myself from above:
I've been duped! Hats off to Michael Marotta. I always did like him.
This was not a bash of Michael Marotta. I like him and love connecting the dots in his posts (when I have the time to read them). He has a singular talent for presenting a lot of apparently disparate facts in the same post and many times only vaguely hint at what binds them together. This confuses many, but also many see the underlying connections he is talking about. I do often. That is one of the things I like about them.

The astrology/constellations/code names/identity of poster train of thought seemed like that. This is what I was referring to. I cannot speak for George, but I believe that he meant something along those lines also. (He also did a real Michael Marotta Moment by not even saying that they might be the same person - he left it up to the reader.)
