I can imagine Joe thinking, these people are missing the point, they are not in tune with my thinking.
So goes off to find those that are,I suspect he will be lucky if he succeeds, there isn't a surfeit of minds of his calibre.
I wish him luck.

Gentlemen, I wish each of you well in your endeavors.  My appreciation for your efforts is deeply personal.  I wish to thank you for providing a forum where many of my own articles have appeared, along with much critical engagement.  And I also wish to thank you for providing a forum that still sells my monograph on Rand & homosexuality, the first such SOLO monograph ever to be published.  For having hosted the kick-off to one of the early SOLO conferences, I am also thankful for having met many good people through this forum.

As one of those who has long been concerned about the preservation of historical archives, I do sincerely hope that there might be a way to preserve the current site, in some form, as a place to which people might return to see the development of that engagement over time.  There are some very important discussions here.  I do realize that Joe, Linz, and Jeff do not have an obligation to pay for this archival preservation, but it is still my hope that preservation, in some form, will be given a priority in any transition to something new.

Be well, take good care, and thanks again.

Chris

Um...didn't anyone read Linz's comments,
SOLO is not going away, just relocating...the upshot will be a variant thereof at the new address to be revealed here on December 1.
Doesn't sound like an end so much as two new beginnings. Good luck, Joe, with your new efforts. I'll see everyone else here Thursday.

SoloHQ is dead. Long live SOLO.

"Maybe I didn't treat you quite as good as I should have..." Nice touch with the music. :-)

Gentlemen, what you accomplished here was most remarkable, warts and all, and it will be missed. But you're moving on -- hopefully both to better things -- and we will move on, too.

Good premises!

My sentiments exactly, Bob. Joe: I salute your wonderful work on this site, and Linz: I can't wait to be a part of your next SOLO-related venture!!

Mark and Ciro-
Thank you for your kind words.

While this glorious thing that is SOLOHQ still exists, anyone interested can check out photo's from the event over in the Romance section.

I would like first and foremost to thank Linz, Joe and Jeff for creating SoloHQ in the first place, and maintaining it since. Disagreements though there have been, there is no denying the magnificence of what you've achieved here; and I sincerely wish you all every success with your future endeavours.

My thanks and good wishes go also to the other contributors who helped make this place what it was. I've come to regard many of you as friends, and I hope we will all be able to maintain contact in some form from now on.

Thanks Joe and Linz for letting me join your party!  The past few months for me have been a fascination introduction to Objectivism and Objectivists.  I've even learned some things about my own mind and that don't happen every day!  Best of luck to you both and all the folks I've met at SOLOHQ (that includes you, Andy).  I think of you all whenever I read a post on another board that I like and reflexively look for the "check mark" so I can sanction it.  (Anyone else do that?  I wish every board had atlas points--oh well, maybe someday!)

May we all bring the world closer and closer to the sanity we so richly deserve and we alone can bring!

-Kevin

I missed the old SOLO mailing list, and I'll miss SoloHQ. However, I trust Linz and Joe to make the successors to SoloHQ sites worth visiting.

What a shock to the system! You guys are really lowering the boom on us. It's a little like a death in the family. I hope you guys know what you're doing...

The lights aren't going out, they're only shining brighter.  The cells are dividing, not expiring.  Rest assured, the giants that created SOLOHQ haven't left, they still exist on earth.

Check back December 1st.

To our inexorably delicious future!

Julia-
So, does this mean all of your effort at organizing SOLOC 5 is nought?  I hope that we still meet up under whatever new banner is coming our way.

I'll have no difficulties at all taking that advice!
I do still hope to meet many of the people I've gotten to know from SOLO, so I hope Florida is still on, even if not under the banner of SOLOHQ.
