Sting had a habit of writing songs based on books.  My personal favorite is "Don't Stand So Close to Me" about Lolita.

Giles is right though that King O' Pain is far from uplifting

Only I may refer to people by their surnames! Get your own gig.
Even at it's bleakest:
"there's a red fox torn by a huntsman's pack
There's a Black winged gull with a broken back"

it's inspiring and uplifting.

Leaving out 'haunted', 'fated', 'doomed' and lots of other vibes that will cause an electrostatic bolt if you get the album within a block of The Romantic Manifesto....
