James, I'm glad I don't hold myself to that pledge otherwise I'd never be able to buy any more vinyls for the rest of my life! :)

Actually, I've just remembered that James & Barbara were going to subject themselves to some recommended headbanging caterwauling in the interests of open-mindedness. Anything to report, guys? Guys? Can you hear me?

Linz, to be Objective about it, the Yes song (Awaken) I recommended is hardly headbanging fodder...but I am curious what James thought about it, also, since I guaranteed it or his money back...

I can also report that Uncle Linz has undergone headbanging 101 himself recently ... with results that I'll let him report himself. :-)

I saw PC on TV tonight (and he was of course anything but PC, thankfully) and can report that his neck is *not* permanently stuck in that position.

A reinforcement of my loathing for such mindless esthetic barbarism. I can't remember who the groups were - I think there was some Rush in there, wasn't there PC? They were all dreadful.

And of course, PC was flogged for possession of same.

Still, it could have been worse. At least he didn't play any Wagner.

I'll have to add my agreement to Linz's recomendation. Stokowski is incredible. Of course my opinon is suspect, as I like Rush :-)

YES...... almost ANYTHING 'old silky' did is worth acquiring, as he was one of the best, if not the best, in inovative transcripting and arranging.

Okay, friends. I have purchased several of the recordings that were recommended to me to help me find worthwhile rock music. Currently, I am circling around them and sniffing. I hope to have a more complete report shortly.

Stowkowski appears as the director in the original Disney Fantasia by the way. In fact it opens with Bach.
