It looks like there are still 2 rooms available at the beach house.  For $250 you get your own room for 5 days.  That's $50 a night for a beach house.  A very good deal.  Supply is limited.  First come, first serve.

The sudden availability of the rooms is because two parties have decided to stay nearby rather than at the house (they took the stories of Rowlands' Hannibal Lechter propensities seriously). Be aware that that's an option, though naturally we're keen to fill the rooms first - suitable establishments are listed on the SOLOC 4 page.

If one room can fit two people in a non-romantic way -- room for a sleeping-bag would do it -- then I'll take one!

Linz, I'm truly shocked by your lack of couth. Surely it's obvious that I wear my good tiara -- the diamond one -- only for formal occasions. So I shall be wearing the second string one -- the one with pearls and jade -- for the Solo conference. Where were you brought up?

But I'm prettier than you are, James -- and your tiara has to be bigger because you have a fatter head than I do.

Barbara, you are a very beautiful woman, but prettier than me... well, we'll let SOLOC4 vote on that.

I wish you all a great time and wish I could be there. But, I have my first major exhibition since being back in the States, May 6/7 in Chattanooga, Tenn. and preparations for it won't allow all the delightful time I would share with you all.

Cheers,

Michael

Damn!

So who's going to say "Fuck Objectivism!" this time, then?!

:-)

Good luck with the exhibition, Newberry, SPW (Slayer of Pomo Wankers).

The Toastmasters International Headquarters resides not far from SOLOC 4 at

Toastmasters International
23182 Arroyo Vista
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA  92688

This amounts to a 35 minute drive.  Since we have a SOLO Toastmasters Special Interest Club on our Web site, some might want to make a road trip to tour the facility.  They conduct public tours Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with no appointment needed.  Let me know if you have interest.

Hi Everyone!

We mentioned in the SOLO4 info page that as of April 1st the conference attendance fee will increase. This is in fact true and approaching. Any payments received after April 1st will be $150 per person.

So make your reservations and submit your payments early!

For any questions, contact me at ekatalin@yahoo.com.

Can anybody tell me what time activities start on the 22nd and end on the 27th?

I'm trying to arrange things to attend, but I have a business and a child to take care off, both at very sensitive stages, and cannot be away more than to arrive on 22nd at 7:30pm into LAX and leaving 27th early morning (I might be able to stretch that to 28th am).

Would I miss the essentials, or mere cocktails and prissy welcome and goodbye speeches?

And are there any beds/pullout couches still available?

Cheers
David

Hi David,

Typically Friday night is eat, meet people, socialize, and complain about all the lunatics we've met over the years.  Fun stuff.

Saturday and Sunday will be the presentations with free time in the morning and at night.

Monday on will be unplanned.

It would be great if you made it David.  If you find it easier to come into the John Wayne airport, it's significantly closer.

Thanks for the quick response, Joe. I might see if I can get in a day earlier then (Thursday night) and leave 26th or 27th first thing.

I'll also try John Wayne airport, and will be contacting you once my plans are confirmed with a couple of presentation ideas, if there are still vacancies.

thanks
David

Points reached.
(Barbara - I very much enjoyed your editorial in the centenary TFR.)

I too have reached a point where my life is about to change dramatically. I finished my Master's Thesis last month (I get the grade back in the next few days) and handed in my resignation a week later. I am finishing here at the bank on Wednesday week (30/3/05).

I'll then tour NZ's South Island for two weeks and the lower half of the North Island for half a week then fly to the US for 3 months OE before coming back to NZ before flying to Aussie for another road tour before going to London to work, tour Europe (and generally tear the place apart with Sturm, Darby and any fool who'll join us).

I will begin my OE with SOLOC4. Woohoo!

See you all there.

Andrew.
