"American Spirit" is such an ambiguous term that I think the results of this poll are meaningless. What were you expecting to determine Ted?

I don't mean to keep harping on an old theme, but I find it humorous that you keep asking people to fill out their profile so that we can know something about them, but you refuse to use a true picture of yourself as your avatar. Both things seem the same to me. Is this really some sort of security measure you take so that people can't identify you by sight in the real world, or is there some other reason?

Just curious.

The purpose of the poll was to elicit answers. The term "AS" was purposefully chosen.

Why stop there in pursuit of Teddy Enlightenment. Sure, I can see my thoughts, but what is more fun is seeing other peoples thoughts. Seeing what someone means.... really SEEING the meaning, disembodied from the mind, floating out there... er, somewhere. Wow! Now that's enlightenment, if you see what I mean.

(You know, this is what Woody Allen was talking about when he said he was thrown out of NYU for cheating on his Metaphysics final by looking into the soul of the guy sitting next to him - and you thought that was just a joke.)

That's not the same guy. Those are just 5 coincidences (5 look-alike guys, all named Erik with a "k"). You've got your pattern-recognition set on: too sensitive.

p.s. I know this, because I'm often charged with doing the same thing with regard to supposedly uncovering supposedly-connected statist elements in contemporary political figures or policies (aka: "conspiracy theorizing").

I know that you are advanced and all of that, but I have to let you in on a little secret. Do you know that mind-control trick that makes others see you as looking like a regular human being? Well ... and this is as hard for me to say as it is for you to hear ... well ... it doesn't work on cameras.

p.s. Ted, I want you to reply saying that you come in peace. A good reason for you to do so -- according to your value hierarchy -- is that someone is likely to sanction you for that (though it would be too trite for me to). And besides, the extra atlas points help with an overall goal of yours to fit in with the human race.

p.p.s. I'm almost out of control here. This is scary. I mean, what would it be like if some sinister mastermind changed my own avatar and, in consequence, people starting making/having such fun of/with me? I mean, I'd get attention, at least. And they say that bad press is better than no press at all. I rambling now ...
