Bridget wrote in Post 7:

I can't stand silence I'm always either talking to myself or listening to someone else talk. Either way, I must hear something to keep my mind active. Hell, I love it when I hear a new noise at work or where ever, it just keeps me going through what it might be. As you see, I must be stark raving mad.

Introverts typically desire silence to hear their own thoughts.

Extroverts typically desire external stimulation and frequently talk aloud to hear their own thoughts.

At least, I have read this in various books about personality types and working styles.

Can anyone corroborate or refute these statements?

Based on your post, Bridget, I would categorize you as an extrovert.

My fave scene from that movie was the campfire beans/fart one - first time I think such realism was ever shown about eating all those beans.... ;-)   and, of course, brought mounds of laughs in the theater....  but yes - sure appreciated the reference to ol' Hedy, one of the most beautiful woman ever..[certainly moreso than Rita]

Hedy Again, but do click the one above to download, it's much better. This one's from www.georgehernandez.com And I have found her spelled both "Lamar" and "Lamarr," but always Hedy. Not my favorite, I do prefer the under-utilzed Rita and the Divine Bacall, and even Stanwyck with her street tough-looks, but Hedy's nothing to sneeze at.

Bart: I better go check out this Mongo character.
[Bart reaches for his gun]
Jim: Oh no, don't do that.
Bart: Why not?
Jim: If you shoot him, you'll just make him mad.

[Bart, disguised as a Klansman, describes his qualifications as a villain]
Hedley Lamarr: Qualifications?
Bart: Stampeding cattle.
Hedley Lamarr: That's not much of a crime.
Bart: Through the Vatican?
Hedley Lamarr: [smiling] Kinky. Sign here.

Years ago, a friend of a friend told me that Mongo Santa Maria was a very famous musician, from Cuba I think. So, the line was a joke for those "in the know".

Perhaps Michael Stuart Kelly could confirm this.
