| | My wife and I went to Paris, for the first time, in September. Like Ed said: "the museums; buildings and architecture; music; restaurants". They were great, especially the restaurants. And most of the people were friendly and helpful, even though neither of us speaks French.
But, I wanted to see Foucault's pendulum. It is in the Pantheon in Paris and was used by Foucault in 1851 to show that the earth rotates (with respect to what I won't speculate : ). But, it wasn't meant to be. When we went to see it, it had been taken down temporarily to make room for a "work of art" by Ernesto Neto entitled 'Leviathan Thot' (see below). MON DIEU!
