But it's mainly a tribute to the dishonesty and misdirection possible via isolated photos. A typical annoying-but-arresting activist leftist female from the 1960s -- when the change-the-world left was the left -- would be Jane Fonda, Vennesa Redgrave, or Bianca Jagger. All were dynamic, vivacious, energetic, sizzling-hot, hippie chicks to which nothing on the right could compare. Conservative, timid, tepid, repressed, inhibited, unidealistic, defeated, brow-beaten, stay-at-home, hausfrau, Republican mom-types are far from the feminine ideal.
