This one is for Kitten, but addressed to all the people I care about on Solo. (You know who you are.) And to all others with good will.

I have made an awful lot of posts on Solo over the last few months. I am being referred to in several places as a regular contributor. This particular post hits the mark of 2,500. So I would like to dedicate it to Kat and share it with you all.

There have been so many bad vibes recently that a shift in focus is in order - for me at least. So here goes something from the bottom of my heart.

I found Kat on Solo. This is probably the greatest gift I could have found anywhere. This goes way beyond the a romance thing. Kat is sort of what I would be if I were a woman. We share the same reason-based philosophy and we share the same sense of life. No compromises are needed to "fit the odd shaped pieces together" to work as a couple.

I have never encountered such a person before. We don't argue. We nurture each other. I gave up on believing this was possible a long time ago and I feel like the most fortunate man on earth right now.

Regardless of what anybody may think about Solo anywhere, regardless of what acrimony may appear on other places here on Solo, I will always carry deep gratitude in my heart for finding Kat here.

A sense of life is to be lived, not just discussed. Through Kat I am able to live mine to the highest possible - here and now.

Kat, I love you as much as is humanly possible and, at times like now, I feel like I want the whole world to know it.

Was that syrupy? It sure as hell was. So what?

I am proud to be able to feel these things.
I am proud to be able to offer this homage to the woman I love.
I am proud to be able to share this homage with the people I care about here on Solo (and others of good will).
I am proud to be able to know that I am right to be this way.

Thanks for listening. Now you all can get back to your other stuff. I'm done.

Michael

Michael-
I bask in the syrup of my own soulmate, so this is a situation where a toast is not due, but rather an acknowledging swipe of the brow in relief for the fact that we did it.  We found that one person.

And, since I happen to have a glass of Chianti at my side, I will raise a toast to you Michael: 2500 and going strong.  I may disagree with the next 2499 out of 2500 ;), but I'll enjoy the challenge and I'll enjoy your writing.  And to the two of you, a toast to life, to a life together, and to the two of you always enjoying a life together with a capital-S Sense of life.

Saying Kat is worthy of a "Bonk" is not what I meant!

Not that I'm saying that Kat is not worthy of a bonk.....

 No, wait!

I mean that Kat is bonkable, but......

Shit!

I'm in a lot of trouble now.............

I think I should shut up now!

Michael, just for once, why don't you shut ...

Wait. That doesn't seem to be the right one.

I have just finished my FreeRad chores for the day & am about to uncork a Shiraz. I shall raise my first glass to you & Kitten.

We've come to disagree about much, MSK, but I would never gainsay your energy, your passion, your commitment to SOLO or the overall positivity of (most of!) what you have contributed here. And it delights me more than I can say that you and Kat found each other via SOLO. Kat, if you can weave your magic on a likely lad for Linz, I'll be eternally in your debt.

Linz

PS - I had lunch with Deborah Coddington today & got her to sign your books. On their way tomorrow. Let's hope we have more luck with US Post than we've had recently.

He may have made Australia for diving on the Great Barrier Reef, but an imported French sub-par grape he did not make it for!  Now I'll admit that in a pinch it's better than Boones Farm, but...

However, as Dennis Miller says-"of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong." !

Jody, you're dead meat.

You could have called me a Saddamite.

A pomo-wanker.

A touchy-feely New Ager.

A headbanging caterwauler.

A vegetarian.

A teetotaller.

A drooling beast.

An economist.

Any of that I could have forgiven.

But you called me an Aussie.

It's the lowest rung of hell for you.

LOL You know New Z is nothing more than a suburb! ;)  Now if you hailed from somewhere in the vicinity...say Fiji, I might pay you better homage.

I may be roasted, but the only wine I'll have going with me is a good Italian Brunello...or a good Austrian lemberger.

*purr alert*        Do I still have to attach a warning label.... it seems oh so PC    ; )

Mike,  Wow, I saw this thread and it brought tears to my eyes.  What a great surprise.  I don't know what to say....

You make me the happiest woman on earth and every day I love you more and more.  I really don't know how I ever survived without you in my life, you truly are my highest value.  When I couldn't talk to you for a couple of days after the hurricane, I was going nuts. It was a big mistake to cancel your plane tickets when they downgraded the storm.  Now things are sort of back to normal and I get to talk to you a couple times a day and messenger you.  We will be together soon.  Just gotta move a few more mountains.

You are so purrfect for me.  You is what you ought to be and I never want to make you change for me.  You make me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.  I never expected to find what I have found with you, and I am looking forward to a long and happy life together.

Michael, I love you as much as is humanly possible and, at times like now, I feel like I want the whole world to know it.

* end of purring *

Linz, sorry bud, you are SOL.  Derek is taken and Andy is married.  I'm afraid you have to learn to love sheep.   ; )

*raising glass*   cheers!!

Kat

So give us some updates you two lovers.  What's going on?  Is Kat moving to the humidity state, or is Michael planning on moving to, Chicago is it?  I was in Chicago about 4 years ago, for a long weekend to attend a concert, and I absolutely loved it.  To supply the proper context, I have to admit this was in the middle of July...and I was on what was basically the first date with the love of my life(whom I met online).
