As for the notion of a connection between drug dealing and terrorism, this is a standard conservative canard, not a plausible argument for Objectivists. (I don't know any smack addicts myself, but my experience with other drug users and traffickers has been entirely domestic or Latin American in origin.) Were "illicit" drugs legalized, there would be no profit incentive for criminal activity in their sale. And, as a factual matter, while opiate sales may subsidize the Taliban, it is oil money which provides almost the entire financing of the isl@mists. Were domestic oil production and the nuclear industry not hamstrung by the eco-hysterical left, at least we as Americans would not be funding our own enemies.
