There's just something about this man's paintings that just resonates with me. Many times I am alone, but not lonely. I could be in a group for a while and realize that I haven't spoken to anyone at all - that I'm observing them, not with them. I had the immense pleasure of viewing the real live painting upclose at the Art Institute in Chicago a few weeks ago. It was actually the first time I had ever seen it, and it just drew me in like an eerie mirror. Not least because I have been one of those customers for many an AM these last two years.
