That's great, Joe. I love it.

I hope this doesn't demean the work, but I think it would make a magnificent high-quality T-shirt or shirt. And a nice affordable print. Market this thing! You've already got one customer.

Nice!

But why it is so blurry? My eyes hurt looking at it! (I look hard, you know).

Thanks, Alec and John. Alec, no, I do not think that's demeaning, quite the contrary!
Thanks, Hong. SOrry, I think it's blurry because the image was enlarged from the original jpeg. Still learning about computer images, and how to do them.

I like this, except for the blurriness.  Is the blurriness in the painting, or is it the scan quality?

Joe,

I was going to compliment you on the blurriness of your work, but I see that’s been done enough. (Imagine smiley-face here.)

As a musician, I appreciate the vision of this piece. It says to me, "Look at how man celebrates his existence with music. Look at the joy it brings." The vapor trail to the sun, with the notes at the top, are especially fitting the glory of music. Where can I get a poster?

I love it, Joe. To me it is a simple, child-like evocation of the upwards joy we can find in our hearts, and in music. Well done.

Jon,

As you can see with the times listed, I sent my post before Hong's comment and Joe's reply appeared.  I wouldn't have asked if I'd known someone else had (or would), or if I'd already seen the answer.

(to moderator) I am curious: why does my post appear after the other two?  Is it simply that I have a smaller total count of posts?

Thank you everyone. Nowhere near the marketing stage yet...so no posters to speak of. It was actually just a fun doodle at work that turned into something more. But if anyone wants, I can send you a jpeg directly, which should be clear as the original.

Thanks for the encouragement, when I get enough of these down, I will try to shop them around.

Merry Christmas!

Joe

I'll take one of those JPEGS if you're in the mood. I would love to have that JOY dancing as my wallpaper!

Joe,

I'd like one too.  Thanks for the offer!           benjaminkh@goshen.edu

The following is a link to a (classical guitar) CD with a piece that embodies a spirit of joy in music making, like few others I have encountered.  It's track 3, and you can sample 30 seconds of it here:

Ben,

Since you're still under moderation until you acquire some more Atlas points, your posts get submitted to the moderator queue.  When someone clears those, forum gets updated.  That's probably why yours was delayed.
