| 'I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own. I resign.'
Set in a surreal village located who-knows-where and run by who-knows-whom; populated by people who once had ideas in their head that were valuable, but are now prepared to die 'like rotten cabbages'; fought against by prisoner Number Six, who finds himself subjected to assorted indignities as he attempts to find out 'what it's all about.' It is 'The Village.' Such is The Prisoner. Where am I? Who is Number One? Whose side are you on? All basic philosophical questions - all asked in each of seventeen episode by 'The Prisoner.'
As for the answers ... as the series says, 'Answers are a burden for others, and a prison for oneself.' You'll just have to follow the clues yourself. 'I am not a number! I am a free man!!' Or are you? Who is your jailer?
