It's so bad here, I'm renting a back-loader to get rid of the towering snow banks in my business' parking lot to make room for what is scheduled to be a very busy weekend; Wine-fest at the Mohegan Sun. maybe we New Englanders can just commiserate over wine and drink our sorrows away. :(

Yes, there is something to be said of Florida - no towering mounds of dirty plowed snow... ;-)

Sunny, 63 degrees here (Livermore, CA).  Went for a short walk at lunch in short sleeves, got a bit sweaty (2 miles at 4mph).  Foggy in the am.  Can't wait for spring.

Oh sure, just rub it in why don't ya!

We're getting another 4 inches this weekend and another Nor'easter next week. Send help if you don't hear from me, maybe a dog sled with supplies :)

John,

Don't worry. I've got you covered. I'll send you a dog sled, loaded with frozen berries, ostrich jerky, and some coconut milk to wash it down.

:-)

Ed

I was just kidding John. Didn't mean to drive you over the edge.

I spent the winter 79-80 in the interior of Alaska about 60 miles north of Fairbanks. For nearly a month it was 40-50 below with 30 mph winds. It didn't snow much that winter. A couple feet early, then nothing. So beautiful though. If I could have found steady work I'd still be up there.

No worries Mike. I'm taking it all in good fun :)

I'm still expecting that dog sled with supplies though!

It's the Midwest's turn now. My town, a Chicago suburb, got 18 inches of snow overnight, with more falling and on the way.

Ha! For once southeastern CT remains unscathed from this storm! We only got a couple inches of freezing rain, making the roads real bad but once they finish salting and sanding them all should be fine.

So, Ed, how's Minneapolis weathering this storm? Are you snowed in and stranded?

Frozen stone soup?

I can understand snow cream, which I had many times as a kid.

In Santa Fe, NM we had the lowest temp on record for this date — -10F.

There has been only about 4" of snow, though so it's not too bad. Most schools have remained closed for three days.

Aha. I just found this thread. MN isn't especially bad, but it isn't a light winter, either. A couple feet of snow cover in the yard.
