Miz. Shepherd also has no idea whether or not the Earth is flat. Seriously.

Let me get this straight.  Someone said something stupid on a television show targeted to women and broadcast in the middle of the day. Gee, what were the odds?

News source here:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,315194,00.html

What I find fascinating -- having had to rely on Google for help -- is that "The View" is in its 11th season and that enough people have heard of this Sherri Shepherd person that she is news.

That said, it is also amusing that people here on RoR not only watch this, but admit to it.

Television is for poor people.

The current writer's strike should have ripped the lid off hell.  These actors only know what other people tell them to say.  Like any job, acting has its practioners with intellectual lives of their own.  Generally speaking though people act because they are good at evoking and evincing the thoughts of other people.

Whoopi Goldberg actually displays evidence of literacy and insight.  I remember when she debuted on SNL.  She is OK.

Which is worse, Michael, your evident sexism or your penchant for jumping to unwarranted conclusions? I have never seen The View myself except when clips appear on other shows I do watch, namely Brit Hume on Fox. I don't know on what network it airs, or at what time. (I have a day job.) There was a short blurb about the "Jesus came before everything" incident in the NY Post which caught my attention since Epicurus was mentioned. Given that I had posted here recently on Epicurus, I found it remarkable, (Epicurus on Network TV?) so I looked up the YouTube excerpt. I didn't know the Shepherd woman's name, or remember it from the Post, so I did have to search for a while and found it under Whoopi and Epicurus.

Now, how smart do you think your wife is? Or is she not a normal woman? And how did you know that this show has been running for 11 years? I would have guessed five at the most. Being a human in a civilization where I do not control the remote at every home I visit, I do remember there being something in the news about Rosie O'Connor on The View and stapling some woman's stomach...

I enjoy YouTube a great deal. The "I dunno if the Earth is flat" clip popped up randomly over a month ago. That's how I knew about it.

You're still and ass, Mike.

Too funny! Even in the bible, Christians don't come first!

Just think - Christ came first, which means the Romans came after Christ. Therefore, the entire Roman empire was set up in Jesus' lifetime, only 33 years!

I'd always heard Rome wasn't built in a day, and this proves it (though the universe was built in 6).

Religions come and go, but stupidity is eternal.

This clip just shows me that an atheist (me) knows more about what is in the Bible, than a self proclaimed christian. Of course, most "christians" don't read the Bible. They prefer to be told what it says, and the meaning of it all.
