Once, kinda. There's so little snow around here you need a whole yard's worth to make a foot-tall snowman... more of a snow Jabba the Hutt really, the snow didn't pack well. Which meant crappy snowballs, too.

Calvin: Look at this! You call this snow?! It's not even an inch high! What good is less than an inch of snow?!

Hobbes: Well, it's pretty.

Calvin: Nobody ever closed a school on account of prettiness.

I still have the final Calvin & Hobbes strip from December 31, 1995:

They're outside in the snow.

Calvin:  Wow, it really snowed last night!  Isn't it wonderful?
Hobbes:  Everything familiar has disappeared!  The world looks brand-new!
Calvin:  A new year, a fresh, clean start!
Hobbes:  It's like having a big white sheet of paper to draw on!
Calvin:  A day full of possibilities!
Calvin (next panel):  It's a magical world, Hobbes, ol' buddy...

(final panel) ...let's go exploring!  (as they toboggan off into the unknown)

Personally, my goal is to always keep some of that child-like wonder and whimsy in my heart.
