Yep.

Salman has first hand experience with these killers.

I was always very impressed that he is a consistent advocate for freedom.

Many years ago a fictional movie was made in Pakistan about a Muslim "hero" murdering Salman Rushdie, but Salman balked at the idea of banning or censoring the film from the UK or elsewhere.

Salman is truly a courageous hero for freedom!

I posted the quote. It must be said, I really don't like his fiction or his politics, he did back the Sandinistas in the 80s, but something about being marked for death for a novel tends to make one into a very articulate advocate for freedom. This was taken from an excellent interview at reason.com, check it out.

I also post this in that he is still a leftist, and not all leftists should be dismissed just because of the label...
