Yeah, I meant outreach to anarchists, not sanction. Not even physical contact except thru latex gloves. If we can tolerate this, we can tolerate much.

Yeah. Furries. I came to a stop. Maybe part of my mind hoped that if I did nothing that it really didn't exist. Before I gave in to that irrationality, I was saved by apathy.

"Who here knows a person who has mentioned they heard Limbaugh talking about Atlas Shrugged?

And who here knows someone who said they are or know a kid who read Atlas Shrugged in high school?"

Come on, people, are Steve and I the only one's who've heard a non-Objectivist we know mention Rand because of these two influences?

Ok Ted, here you go:

I know 4 people who read AS in high school.  One of them is actually the person who told me I would enjoy reading it.  Two are in their 40's.  One went to school in MI, the other in WV.  The other two are in their 20's.  One in TX, the other in FL.

If you know, were any of them influenced by ARI, Tenya?  It may be too long ago to have been influenced by Rush.

I didn't ask but assumed the books came from ARI's program. I doubt they would have known anyway. Limbaugh wasn't mentioned in those conversations. However I recently (within the last few weeks)spoke with someone who is interested in reading AS because one of the conservative talk radio folks (he didn't specify which) mentioned it.

Sorry, Tenya, Teresa, that was my fault for not being specific enough. I figured that most high school students would not know whether the books were ARI supplied or not. One thing that makes me think all high school AS reading is not ARI sponsored is that I have seen stores in Manhattan stock AS in their sections of required reading for high school students, along with Steinbeck, Moby Dick and the like. Of course, everyone I know who has read AS did so in high school as I did at 16, but it was my own individual reading for pleasure.

Well,  I read it because of a radio personality (not Rush) when I was well into my 20's.   ARI would have remained obscure the whole of my life otherwise.  Rand wasn't required in any of my high school classes.

A Christian friend of mine called to tell me Glenn Beck was talking about Hank Rearden vs Orrin Boyle on his show, apparently right before he had Yaron Brook on.
