I see no point in worrying about it.  As I see it, we have two options:

1) We can change it... in which case we should figure how we can change it, and just change it.  But worrying doesn't change it.

2) We can't change it... in which case worrying won't alter that fact, and we either have to adapt or die.

In either case, worrying accomplishes nothing positive, that I can perceive.

I see three similar options as well:

1. It's a threat to us - don't really need to worry, need to find solutions.

2. It's not a threat to us, no need to worry.

3. It's not a threat, but people make it out to be and cause fear which allows the implementation of bad laws and regulations. Need to just kick their asses.

Orion - the first two are actually the same as what you had, you just beat me to the post! I did have to add the third one in there though, because you never really know people's motivations... So that does "worry" me! People will ask for actions against climate change when really it made not be a threat.

Elizabeth,

Actually, your posts are fundamentally different, because they consider the truth of a more fundamental assumption than I did: whether or not climate change really is dangerous.

I immediately jumped in with the assumption that they were, and your comments were more cautious and asked if they even were.

So, there ya have it.  You were being more careful than I was.

I personally think that if the climate is changing, most of the blame can be laid on all of the hot air being spewed by liberals, socialists, tree-huggers, uptight Christians, and conservatives.

Orion - I read your post too quickly! You are quite right in the differences! See what happens when I have something on my mind, everything just fits into my idea somehow... :) I should learn to read more carefully.

Elizabeth,

I made the same mistake... I assumed something too quickly that I shouldn't, and your posts pointed that out to me.   Good eye, good eye.
