What I'd like to know is what percentage of the ARI membership grew up in a Judeo-Christian context. I think it would explain a hell of a lot if most of 'em grew up beneath the cross.

Christian (Roman Catholic). But then I'd call that "philosophical void" as well, so.....

I'm an ARI member and supporter; I grew up in what I suppose would be described as somewhere in between "agnostic" and "philosophical void". We didn't go to church. When I was about 8, I asked my parents "what religion are we?" -- there was a long pause, and my mother said "Protestant."

My parents did encourage a respect for logic and evidence as the base for knowledge, probably because both hold degrees in the sciences.

Make of that what you will.

Behave yourself, Francois. Kyle hasn't proved himself to be a Dalek yet. Wait till he starts flaming before you break out the tar and feathers.

Indeed. Matthew asked a perfectly straightforward question, and since there seems to be a dearth of ARI members hanging around on this site, I thought I'd toss an actual data point into the pot.

As to Francois' implication -- all I ask is that you judge me as an individual. That shouldn't be too much to ask of people who claim to revere Rand's ideas.
