Spreading Objectivism

/humor/ How about going door to door on Sunday mornings and handing out pamphlets? /humor/ Seriously though, a method of mass dissemination is a pretty harrowing task to undertake. I am currently attempting to direct TWO films on the subject. One a pure fiction piece, the other... More of a "What if" mockumentary. Apart from the obvious fact that I could be taking on one task at a time, ("But why?" I ask as my Superman Cape floats behind me majesticly.) it's really a challenge to try selling a message that carries with it as many preconceptions as the philosophy of objectivism. Mind you, I live in Southeast Michigan, trapped between the home of the biggest labor unions in the U.S. and Ann Arbor... A.K.A. Berkeley Jr. Try shooting Doc in Ann Arbor on a Saturday night when the subject matter even whispers the concept of free trade... (Imagine dodging fried tofu cubes, black hair dye and tongue studs.) That's when I began to realize that my cape was being held aloft by the hot air of college professors. But all of the challenges aside, film is probably the best medium. Distribute once, let the viewer spread the word.

Ha!! John, that was too good! I couldn't stop laughing about the tofu cubes flying around. But "What if" we include a centerfold pin-up in the glossy, would that make a difference? LOL SOLO gets rough, Objectivism in the buff:)

It could work. Nekkid objectivists... I know there's a joke in that somewhere... Something about how it's hard to concentrate on the pissing contest when the plumbing is plain to see. But I digress. I think I may submit an article about media to SOLO. It might be fun to do and give some insight into the best method by which to "Spread the word" so to speak. Hell, I might even prove my last post wrong. Stay tuned gang, I will return shortly. (As John begins climbing the mountain to see what that funny fire is.)

Oh! Oh! A magazine would be a great way to go!

LOL!

I just got my first copies of The FreeRadical and believe me, there is something deeply stirring, to hold in one's hand a real manifestation of everything we believe in abstractly. It was exciting to read the articles, see the faces, the quips, the drama, the seriousness of what faces us in the world today.

I can pick it up and read a little here and there as I take breaks from my busy day. I can pass it to a friend, to point out what is at stake in the world today. I can leave it prominantly displayed in my home so that others will ask about it -- and of course, I would be happy to oblige and give them subscription information. *grin*

My husband can take a copy to his lab and leave it out to be commented upon and perhaps find at least one rational person there that might be interested in freedom and living!

Not only that, instead of throwing out the old copies, make sure you leave them in waiting areas of auto repair shops, doctor's offices, dental offices, airport lounges -- recycling at its best!

And hey, I get enough people peddling magazine subscriptions that the idea of Nekkid objectivists going door to door to solicit subscriptions for The FreeRadical .. well, it might just work. LOL!
