Hi Jeanine,

I enjoyed reading your poem, and I enjoyed the flow though I don't know much about poetry.

What is interesting is your soul's self disclosure, through laying yourself out there through art.

There is something that reminds me of Wagner’s Ring, in the sense that the end comes full circle without, the gold ends up back where it was originally found…and I can’t help but sense theme of pointlessness…and a longing for some age of moral giants.

History is a very special lens at which to look at humanity…we only see the important brilliant people, for good or bad, and that is an exalted standard for mortals.

Michael

Jeanine, I enjoyed reading this as well but I wanted to pick out one stanza in particular:

"I assume you cry for better
than their layout for your life?
If you ask for independence
you will not make Mother, Wife,
slave of men, and maid of children
born to breed and polish chains.
Else than Kinder, Kueche, and Kirche,
any price commits no pains."

I had to read these a bunch of times because at first I got the context but I was not sure what was so appealing to me about it. But then it hit me and I just completely fell in love with the way this weaves in and out:
"you will not make Mother, Wife,
slave of men, and maid of children
born to breed and polish chains."

This one stanza says so much and has a great impact to the reader.

Thanks,
JML
