I can't tell the difference between someone who favors capitalism versus someone who, say, favors communism or socialism aside from them just *saying* they do. At the end of the day, they all shop at the same stores, watch the same shows, work the same jobs, so far as I can tell. There doesn't appear to be a *practical* difference between them. There doesn't *need* to be a practical difference, I guess. It might well be enough that people *say* they prefer this or that system. But it still bugs me. Are there any distinguishing behaviors between these groups, aside from talk, by which we can sort and identify them?

Voting, volunteering, donating and conversing socially all come to mind.

I'd like to know what would convince you and how high your standards are, lest you keep raising the bar retroactively in response each new answer.

Jordan,

I've known people to personally boycott corporations based on politics. Oddly enough, it's usually been folks on the Left (using capitalism, i.e., freedom, as a tool).

Peter,

I'm looking for feedback really. There's no bar to raise or lower here.  Your answers were fine, particularly your mention of donating. Ed's mention of boycotting was fine as well. Those are factors, aside from just talk, that help indicate one's group affiliation.
