It's been a long time since we gave taped lectures on Objectivism (1962-64 in Lincoln, Neb.)  Where can we find Rand's opinion concerning the advisabilty, and ethics, of the violent takeover of Palestine in 1948 by Zionists?

Hey, Charles, good to hear from you!  I recall meeting you at the Atheist Alliance International Convention in 2003 in Tampa.  I gave your bookmark and brochure about liberty and atheism to a student at University of Central Florida last year.  Let me know if you would like to start a local SOLO in Florida monthly meeting.

I do not know what Ayn Rand herself said, but this flyer from the Ayn Rand Institute (ARI) will tell you the current "official party line" of those who carry her name to their cause:

http://www.aynrand.org/site/DocServer/israel_sept_2002.pdf?docID=164

The bottom line is that ARI fully supports the right of the state of Israel to exist.  I presume this includes their right to occupy the land you describe.

You can find other documents at

http://www.aynrand.org

about this subject.  In addition, search their bookstore at

http://www.aynrandbookstore.com/

for audio, video and book products on the subject of Israel.

I checked my Objectivist Research CD-ROM and found no reference to "Zion" but did find a few passages mentioning Israel.  This one seemed most relevant from "The Lessons of Vietnam" in The Voice of Reason:
The first intended victim of the new isolationism will probably be Israel--if the "antiwar" efforts of the new isolationists succeed. (Israel and Taiwan are the two countries that need and deserve U.S. help--not in the name of international altruism, but by reason of actual U.S. national interests in the Mediterranean and the Pacific.)
I did a search for "Zionist" and found this in the chapter on "Reason" in Objectivism: The Philosophy of Ayn Rand by Leonard Peikoff:
The reason that Objectivism rejects agnosticism should now be clear. This term applies not only to the question of God, but also to many other issues, such as ESP, reincarnation, demonic possession, astrology, the Arab claim of an international Zionist conspiracy, and the Marxist claim that the state will wither away.
I hope this helps.
