How sad.  It hardly seems possible that in this age of technological wonders such walking idiots could be taken seriously... and to actually win elections!  With even the tiniest bit of common sense, sizable portions of the voting public should turn on them and in harsh and unmistakable terms tell them to get the Hell out of politics.

Why hasn't someone explained to them that their bumbling, crude carrying of their strange religious beliefs into politics is going to endanger the very freedom to be such morons in the first place.  I guess anyone who really believes the things they believe wouldn't be able to understand such explanations.

I don't care that much what religious strangeness inhabits a persons mind, as long as they are able to keep it separate from the political arena and have the common curtesy of not trying to push it onto me.  But God save us from these Christian Taliban of the GOP.

My good Galt if he gets divorced are they still brother and sister?  GOP is their own worse enemy.  When will these idiots realize that no matter how religeous or non denominational a person in public office is it should never everrrr be spoken of.  If directly asked a standard response should be "my religion is my own and has nothing to do with the office I was tasked to hold."   Pretty no brainer.  He might as well have been wearing a tee-shirt with an arrow pointing straight up with a slogan "I'm with stupid".

This is one of several reasons why I'm not a Republican and don't call myself a conservative. Despite the religious fundies, I still think the Republicans are a better bad option most of the time because they tend to be better on economic freedoms and limiting government. I'm pro-choice out of practicality and the reality that fetuses clearly aren't as "alive" as a birthed human, but my wife and I would never get a child aborted, so it's hard for me to get worked up about that "wedge" issue, which makes a lot of otherwise decent conservative candidates lose their marbles.

Religion does weird things to otherwise sensible people - much like a drug would. There is a conservative blogger from my home state whom I greatly admire (and would happily vote for, if I voted) but on anything having to do with religion, all common sense goes out the window.
