The correct spelling is Afghanistan.

I wanted to have a thread in which we can collect our military progress in the campaign against al Qaeda and its affiliates.
It would also be a good place add, if you like, your own memories of the attack on our country on 11 September 2001.

The photo of me at RoR was taken from the Brooklyn Bridge with Manhattan in the background a year after the attack. Previously, from that point, behind those skyscrapers, there towered the white marble twins.

US officials said Bin Laden was shot in the head after resisting.

That must be what kept them from putting his head on a pike and bringing it back for a little parade.

I guess we'll just have to be satisfied that he died with a stupid look on his face, and the crabs are taking care of the Holy Warrior now. By "burial at sea" is meant ... "they threw out the garbage that was left after confirming the DNA."

You have to learn to read between the lines.

Our special forces are grateful to the radicals for providing a 10 year training exercise. We're all put on this earth for a reason, I guess.

So how long to wait for the next dumbasses to step up? Hurry. Americans get bored fast.

Why all this nonsense about "He was buried at sea with Sharia tradition" etc? That is propitiation and preposterous.

Screw him. He was stuffed with bacon and fed to the sharks. He was branded سيء and sent to Hell.

I had kind of hoped they would cut his body into small pieces and feed it to pigs... The resulting fertilizer could be make part of our foreign aid donation to Israel. Just a thought.

One of the most remarkable facts of that day was how quickly their model fell apart--forever.

Their model(of taking over a commercial airliner and using it as a weapon)depended on the bias of all of us to regard hijackings as almost scripted events: they will fly around, land somewhere, make demands, and then use the hostages as bargaining chips.

The people hijacked in the first two planes were still influenced with that long standing bias, and succumbed to it. But because of communications technology, the word of what was happening reached some in each of the other planes; there was even some evidence that there was beginning to be awareness on AA Flight 77 just before it hit the Pentagon; already, the bias was crumbling.

By this time, the folks on United 93 knew enough to totally shatter that bias; it was officially gone forever, and those passengers acted rationally.

The next nutjob who stands up in a flight cabin to take over a plane will literally be torn to shreds by rational people using nothing more than their bare hands. The days of passively hoping for the best and conceding planes to nutjobs is also what died on 9/11. Never again without a fight to the death.

Their model lasted not even for one hour before it was null and voided, made obsolete forever. At about 9:30am on 9/11, 40 brave passengers declared, forever, 'Hell, no,' and 'never again.'
