He has been trumpeting this on Fox News for a year. I am for regulated but otherwise open immigration. Just pay a fee, show identity, minimal standards of health and law-abiding-ness, and a willingness to work and come on in - just don't ask for welfare.
McCain has taken more money from lobbyists than any other Republican, especially from the telecom sector which he regulated, and he was as corrupt during the S&L scandal as were the Clintons. He sponsored the unconstitutional McCain-Feingold bill. And whenever the Republicans have needed him most, he's always managed to become the darling of the press by joining the Democrats on "principle."
Romney's basically a Republican Kerry, a hairdo. His "principles" have changed regularly to fit the direction of the wind.
Giuliani and Gingrich have stood on their principles, public sentiment be damned.
Thompson seems charismatic, but I don't know enough about him to have made a decision.
