I'll eat some dog food for that kind of money.

For that money, I'd eat the dog.

Unless it was a mutt, of course.  Mixed breeds are too tough and gamey.  Good for stew, I suppose. Dachshunds are tasty if properly prepared.  Chihuahuas too, if you like Mexican.  And Dalmatians have a nice smokey flavor.

Yep, it's Friday...

Summer,

You nearly made me laugh out loud!!  And, being at work (yes, on my lunch hour), that could have proven to be a precarious scenario (how does one explain to co-workers that you were laughing about the culinary differences of various canines?)  The Dalmation comment is what really got me.  For some reason I have a mental movie of Cruella DeVille wearing a Dalmation coat complaining about the smokey odor that just won't go away! (Aside from all the cigarettes she smoked.)  Thanks for a chuckle on a dreary Friday.  I've enjoyed your sense of humor on recent posts.

Try saying "precarious scenario" out loud.  So rhythmic.  Cool phrase, Bauer.

Edit: (Don't separate the two s's.)

Edit 2:  .."precarious scenario: a scary mess of dairy, yo."     I know, it makes little sense.  But say it out loud.  Really.

I have a chihuahua now and don't see there being enough meat to be worth the work of preparing it. My ex used to tell our pet dachshund 'I love you.. but you'd still be my first meal when civilization collapses!' It's at least good to know they'd be tasty.

Reminds me of a cookbook I have - 'To Serve Man' - wherein is discussed the relative differences in meat quality between a New Englander and a Texan....  ;-)

As a dog-lover I had to sanction this post, but as an apartment dweller who can't have a dog, I'll have to ask you to refrain from teasing me by posting more pictures like this in the future.

(And except for those who have dogs that couldn't survive on their own like lhasa apsos, anyone who ate his dog just because civilization was falling would be committing a worse sin than eating his seed corn, and should rather kill himself so that his dog might eat his master's corpse instead. Chihuahuas were indeed bred to be eaten. But I'd rather eat rampaging rioters if it came to that.)

Sorry Rodney, you'll have to post that content. I'm not going to click on a link that might show anything from Daniel Pearlman's throat being slit to a bunch of kittens eating a dog. You seem benevolent, but I have worked in sales for 15 years, so my curiosity factor is not that strong. Let me know what I'm gettin myself inta.

Ted,

Well, you may want to refrain from clicking on the link, after all.  I nearly threw up with the cuteness of it all.Why are young animals so durn cute!?  I know, it's so people like those who posted in this thread extolling the delectable delights of other animals will refrain from devouring such adorable youngsters.  (I'm only half joking here.  I wonder if there is some truth in that idea.)

Aaron,

I was wondering if someone was going to mention cuteoverload.

Rodney,

Are you referring to the fact that the original article referred to a man being financially compensated for "emotional stress" and somehow the comments of said article have deteriorated into a cute-fest?  Now what is so strange about that?

Or are you referring to my "gut" reaction to your post of the narcaleptic puddy-tat?  What I find more interesting is Summer's and Aaron's seemingly disturbing desire to see me lose my lunch.  After all, I did mention that your post made me ill.  What did they expect by adding a post with five of the nauseating cuties and an entire website devoted to the critters?  Obviously they want to do me harm. ;)p  But that's okay.  Payback is...well, you know.

Bauer

P.S.  Actually, Rodney, Summer and Aaron's posts have given me a huge smile everytime I look at them.  The giggle fits will come next, and you know what comes after that, right?  Yep, it's the men in white coats to show me to my new home with mattress pads for wallpaper.
