This article gave me belly laughs and not just chuckles.

Originally built in Britain in 1957 as a steam-powered fishing vessel, Rainbow Warrior II replaced its namesake that was sunk by French agents in 1985 in Auckland harbor on its way to Moruroa Atoll to block a French nuclear test.

I am glad to see the French were willing to stand up to these people.

One crew member drowned and two French secret service agents were later jailed after pleading guilty to charges of manslaughter and wilful damage.

That will teach them.  They should have let Greenpeace enter the designated blast zone and given them a truly "up close and personal" experience of a nuclear blast.

Mr Constantino said that Greenpeace divers on the Tubbataha expedition had found that healthy coral and no evidence of bleaching, believed to be caused by warming sea temperatures.

What a surprise!

He said the healthy state of the Tubbataha Reefs did not disprove the theory of global warming, which he described as an "extremely complicated science".

How does one "disprove" the theory of global warming?

Please realize my comments have a tongue-in-cheek element before chastising me for the risks my suggestions would entail of making Greenpeace into martyrs, etc.

Well, as much as I think Greenpeace isn't what it once has been, I didn't like this act of state terrorism. It's one thing to seize a ship or to disallow it entry into a harbour or a military staging area, but another to sink a ship with bombs (killing one fool with that one).

I can still agree with the rest of your post, Luke.
