| | The direction of any act by the progressives must be understood in terms of their goals. They want to control the entire economy. They want single payer health care. So, if they have eased off on IRS enforcement, it is to mollify people - FOR NOW, and with an understanding among themselves that they will rectify it later. The same applies to the period between now and the November elections. They will be balancing between creating every entitlement or give-away that will buy votes, and looking moderate as best they can to mollify tea party sentiments, and crafting vague language and toothless policy that they will 'fix' later. Anything that they do that reduces taxes, reduces government control, or protects freedom will be suspect - it isn't in their nature and I, for one, will be looking for the unstated motives. Their other tactic will be denigration of their opponents - painting them all as radicals, irrational, uncaring, racists, kooks, etc.
