I found this joke to be insensitive. It's a deliberate satire against a "group" (i.e., cavemen). Cavemen, as a group, ought to have some rights -- such as the right not to be made out to be the butt of a joke. Sure, they weren't in command of the depth and breadth of knowledge that modern humans are -- but that shouldn't be held against them (they didn't choose to be so relatively ignorant).

Satirically attacking "groups" for things about which they had no choice -- like this insensitive joke does -- ought to be made criminal (with a stiff penalty). For instance, how are cavemen -- as a group -- ever expected to recover any kind of self-esteem, after such a demoralizing joke has been penned? After they've been made so much fun of.

If cavemen are too dumb to stand up for their rights (or to even know that they have rights), then someone should step in on their behalf. It's just the right thing to do.

Well Ed as a lawyer representing the National Association to Protect Cavemen Rights, or NAPCR, I am working hard to make sure Cavemen are not the butt end of jokes. I have just served a summons to Luke for clearly violating the rights of my clients to not have their feelings hurt. Let it be known that Cavemen will not be victimized anymore by the average white male seeking to put down yet another minority group. I have also lobbied Congress to pass new legislation that punishes employers from discriminating against Cavemen in the workplace. Just because a Caveman is not capable of operating a copy machine does not mean the Caveman should be punished for his incapacity to use heavy machinery! Cavemen need to make an honest living too! How else can they provide for their Caveman children!
