Thanks, Luke. I've forwarded this to many of friends who were of that era — and who wasn't in love with Sandra Dee? It certainly was a more innocent age in spite of the Cuban Missile Crisis and all.

Not more innocent, just less cynical. I think the Brady Bunch Movies and Hairspray (featuring the just deceased Ruth Brown, separately, right) by John Waters, while both campy, work because they show how emtpy cynicism (in the modern sense) really is.

Good stuff, Luke! Yeah, I remember those days, and this nifty poem captures them to a T. Sandra Dee was hot, and so was Bridget Bardot, although she was a little more risque in "And God Created Women," which I snuck off to see, because my parents didn't approve.

How times have changed!!!
