Based on the photograph, Gore appears to have grown porky enough for his flatulence to contribute to global warming -- not to mention how many trees he had to kill to publish his book.

This still looks like a joke.  Can anyone corroborate or refute the statements made in this Drudge Report?

Shoot, smoking or not, he'd better warn people not to exhale!  All that CO2, you know...

I agree with Luke that it looks like a piece from "The Onion" but Drudge has a reputation to protect, so if it's a fraud, it's a major embarrassment for him.

It just goes to show what contempt these rabid environmentalists have for the intelligence for the American people. But it's more than sad that so many fall for it.

Sam

p.s. I don't put Gore in the category of an environmentalist — he's just a political opportunist.

If Clinton didn't inhale and Gore tells everyone not to exhale ... well, there's a joke in there somewhere ...

Don't forget this gem from Al Gore:

During my service in the United States Congress I took the initiative in creating the Internet.

Investor's Business Daily confirms Drudge's report:

Cooling Down The Climate Scare

http://biz.yahoo.com/ibd/060929/issues01.html?.v=1

"While Al Gore drifts into deeper darkness on the other side of the moon, propelled by such revelations as cigarette smoking is a "significant contributor to global warming," Sen. James Inhofe is becoming a one-man myth-wrecking crew."

Included, another tidbit:

"What the public needs -- and deserves -- is a credible voice to counter the sermons from Gore, on whose behalf cigarettes were distributed in 2000 to Milwaukee homeless people who were recruited by campaign volunteers to cast absentee ballots. Inhofe could be that voice."

According to NewsMax:
NewsMax requested from UNTV an audio copy of Gore's address. At first, NewsMax was told a copy would be provided by the U.N. audio library. Later, NewsMax was told that copies of the Gore speech would not be available. "We destroyed all copies of the speech, except for one master which cannot be released," explained one audio librarian. Dujarric added: "The Gore speech was copyrighted and therefore we cannot release any copies of it."

The original item on the Drudge Report, which was "developing" has disappeared. I surmise that Drudge couldn't get a copy of the speech, either. No wonder — Gore's people don't want this promulgated.

John Baden wrote Environmental Gore: A Constructive Response to Earth in the Balance. Now if only someone would write a constructive response to An Inconvenient Truth, perhaps with the title An Inconvenient Truth: A Convenient Pack of Lies.

I see that someone has written a reply to Al Gore's movie (and book): Marlo Lewis, Jr. of the Competitive Enterprise Institute. See my latest news link, "'An Inconvenient Truth': A Convenient Distortion."

It's on the main page as a "News/Link", and very enlightening.
