Jennifer *has* cojones! She's a quintessential SOLOist. Bisno is a twisted creep who wallows in, & drools at, the thought of animals being made to suffer. See the recent animal rights thread. It's one thing to aver, accurately, that animals have no rights; it's quite another to relish their being tortured, as this psycho did. He's found his home, I'm told, & it assuredly ain't here. Ordinarily I'd take 1 Jennifer over 1000 Bisnos, except Bisno is a minus, so the equation does not compute. Put it this way: Jennifer is a Nem, Bisno is slime.

Fact: Jennifer Iannolo generally posts on matters more related to sense of life issues than on technical philosophic ones

Fact: Jennifer Iannolo also flirts with many of the male soloists.

Fact: Jennifer Iannolo finds self denigrating misogynistic humor which implies that women are of limited rational faculty funny. And, in a related joke, implies that women who do have one are generally unloved.

Inference: It sounds a lot like she believes that women should shy away from intellectual issues and focus instead on getting a mate.

Also Linz, I'm dissappointed. Not by your use of insult and ad hominem statement over argument, as I'm used to that much, but because your usually colorful condemnations are running out of ideas. You're still harping over your blatantly intentional misreading of my stance on animal rights. Come now, you can do better than that. Call me a sub-human maggot fart or something more creative.

Jennifer Iannolo was my date and dinner companion on Saturday night.

To all of the guys on SOLO who have been flirting with Jennifer--you have my permission to be jealous.

Well, I for one, find Iannolo to be supremely refreshing...

She is made of flesh and blood and human warmth, and does not attempt to spit cold steel rivets like most females today.

I already think and analyze enough... I need someone who can talk me off my occasional ledge of tension, and she does that.

That may not fill your needs, but it does mine.

It seems I have misread the masthead.  I could have sworn this was a "Sense of Life" site.  I find it interesting that you have paid so much attention to what I am and am not posting, Mr. Bisno, as I don't believe I've addressed you once on this site.

As I expend my mental energies elsewhere in building companies and formulating development strategies for them, I often have little interest in discussing philosophical minutae.  I prefer to live the philosophy, not debate it incessantly.

Fact: Jennifer Iannolo also flirts with many of the male soloists.
Of course I do.

Fact: Jennifer Iannolo finds self denigrating misogynistic humor which implies that women are of limited rational faculty funny. And, in a related joke, implies that women who do have one are generally unloved.
It wasn't self-denigrating, Mr. Bisno.  It was denigrating towards irrational women.

Most of the women I have encountered *are* of limited rational faculty, whether they be business executives, secretaries or waitresses.  And, truth be told, most men prefer them that way.  If you have found a corner of the planet where this is not largely true, please enlighten us.

Inference: It sounds a lot like she believes that women should shy away from intellectual issues and focus instead on getting a mate.
That is a fairly weak inference, and entirely incorrect.  However, as I neither seek nor desire your approval to live my life, in the end what you think really doesn't matter.

I am frustrated by the fact that I can vote only once for your post Jennifer.

The fact is, most of the women I have met *are*, as you say, "of limited rational faculty". However, I will add, so too are most of the men *I* have met!. This is the nature of The Wad. Interestingly, while the mean is 100 on IQ for men *and* women, there is greater variation among males.

Which means that in men, there are more geniuses, and, conversely, more idiots.

P.S. For the record, you have yet to flirt with me.

Not a Joke:

Ms. Iannolo's "Profiles of Rational Women" reminded me of a woman I read about in Eric Temple Bell's Men of Mathematics, Sofia Kovalevskaya. A profile (too short for a book, but long enough for a web page) of her could be found at:

http://www-gap.dcs.st-and.ac.uk/~history/Miscellaneous/Kovalevskaya/biog.html

a must read!

Joke:

Sofia makes your head spin with her 'rational' top!

http://scienceworld.wolfram.com/physics/KovalevskayaTop.html

a must read...not!

I'd like to offer a belated thanks to those who offered such kind words.  John, my apologies for not flirting with you.  I shall do my best to rectify the situation.  ;)

Jeanine, you are a marvel.  I curtsey before you.

Bill, I thought we were going to keep that a secret...  :P

And num++, I did follow your link to read the story of Sofia Kovalevskaya, and was fascinated by her sheer tenacity.  Thanks for offering that gem.
