More than one sharp cultural observer has noted that there is no limit to the amount of white liberal guilt. It becomes harder and harder for them to drive from fund-raising to charity benefits - while Every image of every angry black tears at them. They feel so bad. No matter how fast their limos travel they feel themselves falling farther and farther behind in accumulated, white, upper-class guilt. And as they work at trying to cope with the heavy burdens put upon them for slavery, for segregation, and for Jim Crow laws, they see a black man killed by a white cop - the cop representing their white establishment and they they feel their load of guilt increase and it becomes intolerable and they grow angry and indignent. How will they ever gin up enough affirmative action, or Obama Phones to make up for this new horror? They feel so bad, and so angry, that it must in their twisted, emotionally swamped minds, that the lives of a few cops is a small price to pay. Oink, Oink, Bang Bang. Several people have asked the BlackLivesMatter.org people what they want. Apart from dead cops, they don't know. And the liberals are so guilty that they can't wait to find out... it might take too long. They just start offering stuff. They can see that this group has recieved no respect, so they give that to them right away - the democratic national party gave them one of its party planks. -------------- It is an old tactic of revolutionary marxists and hardcore anarchists that the first thing to do is to destroy the existing structure. So, I take them seriously when some of them say they want to kill cops. One YouTube video (New Black Panthers) isn't as specific. That fellow calls for the death of white people. (For the slavery that existed about a century and a half ago he says). Nothing good is going to come out of all of this. --------------- When you look at the history of racism in the United States you see a remarkable progression. While slavery had existed in nearly every culture in nearly every period of history and subjected people of nearly every race to that horror, our country was the first to make the philosophical and political declaration of liberty as a natural right and create government for the purpose of securing man's freedom. Think about that. From the beginning of time till just some two hundred and thirty some years ago. But, the reality of slavery wasn't dealt with for about a century and lived in our country like a festering sore. And then the nation turned on itself and over 500,000 died before we brought about the promised freedom. It wasn't enough. Racism dies hard. We saw segregation and Jim Crow laws. It took almost another 100 years before we saw the civil rights acts and then, finally, we were in a position to stand back and look at the core change - the deep cultural realization that racial discrimination was wrong. Just before the civil rights act of 1964, Martin Luther King, Jr. gave that speech that earned him a place in history... if only for this one sentence: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." It is that proud history of moving forward in a very bloody march from everyday, accepted, and legally sanctioned slavery, to that courageous speech... a march through history that was led using ideas to enspire ideals that gave us the actions that have come so close to ending racism. And now I'm stunned at the shameful, ugly revival of racism that we see coming from the far left as they engage in the worst kind of preversion: bringing racism, and violence directed at the rule of law, back to life, energetically injecting life into that near-dead monster, while pretending it is to stop racsim. ----------- Liberals are driven by their bottomless pit of white, liberal guilt. But Progressives are driven by an overwhelming need for unlimited power. For them, the ends justify the means. They would blind themselves to the destruction and damage of this new racism as long as it will firm up the black vote. For them, there is no price too large to pay for a 2016 election victory. They can taste successful transformation of the country just around the corner.
