Hello everyone,

Steve Wolfer wrote me a nice letter of inquiry concerning my absence, and someone else sent me Teresa's inquiry on Facebook.

Not to worry, guys I am indeed alive and well. Just kind of lost interest in posting to the forum.

Got out of the routine, and . . . well you know how that is. It ceases to become part of your regular activities.

I've also been told that Ed Thompson has been absent for a spell. Anyone heard from him lately?

Anyway, thanks for your inquiries and your concern!

Cheers,

Bill

P.S.  I like the new formatting! Pretty cool!

Welcome back. There have been many others who were prolific contributors who just seemed to fade away. George Cordero comes to mind as one of them from many years ago.

Glad you are alive and well, Bill.  I can totally sympathize with the loss of the forum habit.  Anything can get to a point of burnout after a while.  I am not nearly as active here now as I was when I started mainly because I feel like I have said and done everything I had to say and do here and now the question is, "What's next?"  Answers have not proven satisfactory so I have focused on other areas of growth like academics instead.

in a way, is fun with posts like this, seeing if absence makes the mind go fonder - or not...  in my case, loss of previuous computer, and trying to remember all the places need be placed on the bookmark has kept me away from this place as much as furthering interest in other areas, specifically doing my art and working on my to-be-published manuscripts...  and catching up some on my piles of books awaiting to be read...

Greetings, y'all. I believe that I have not posted here since moving to Tennessee in July 2010. I'm glad that my absence hasn't been the occasion for much wailing and gnashing of teeth over my possible fate. :-)

I had a wonderful phone conversation with Bill Friday night, and he mentioned people here inquiring as to his whereabouts and condition. I had intended to post a little note saying he was alive and well, but I'm glad to see that he beat me to the punch.

Bill is like the Energizer Bunny -- or perhaps, a Timex watch (takes a licking and keeps on ticking). How many of us can say that we have been pushed into a public transit vehicle and lived to tell the tale?  :-)

Bill is a National Treasure, and certainly a valuable asset to the Objectivist movement, whether most of it realizes so or not. (I certainly do.) In our conversation, he reminded me again that he is 8 years older than I, and I replied that I hope that continues to be true for many, many years!

Now, as to Ed Thompson...?

Best to all,

REB

Hey Bill!!  It is good to see all is well and really nice to see you!

I know what you all mean but I miss all of you guys just the same.  Now if we could get Ed to drop in it will be like a family reunion!

In my spare time I have been doing wildlife photography as a hobby.  I have entered photo contests at viewbug.  So far I have placed in the top 10% in 17 trifectas!

So if I am not working I am either out taking shots or immersing myself in the various photography books/courses I have bought.

Edit for cross post.   Hi Roger so nice to see you, I have enjoyed many of your entries when I have gone through older posts here!

Alright all you Texan O'sts scour the state inch by inch and drag Ed back kicking and screaming.  I hate not knowing if he is ok or not, I really miss him.
