On the 17th of June 1953 East Germans rose up against their Communist oppressors and rioted in the streets. In response, the Writers Union, in effect a propaganda organ of the East German government, distributed leaflets proclaiming, not that the government had forfeited the confidence of the people, but rather that “the people had forfeited the confidence of the government.” And the people might win back the government’s confidence by “redoubling their efforts.”

The quotes are from Bertolt Brecht’s description in a free verse poem he wrote at the time titled “Die Lösung” – “The Solution.” The poem ends with a wry remark that mocked the rôle reversal of people and government:

“Would it not be easier ... for the government to dissolve the people and elect another?”

Since the early part of the 20th century Marxists have used persuasion and deceit trying to turn America into a socialist state, with some success. The complete overthrow of America, though, proved elusive. Since 1968 they have been using a surer method:  import ready-made socialists.

Dissolving the people and electing another, displacing the historic American people with one more to a leftist’s liking.

Mark - Are you being moderated on Objectivist Living as well?

I’m no longer moderated on OL and I’ve never been moderated on ROR (except perhaps for an initial period like every new member, I’ve forgotten).

The title of the ARI Watch article mentioned above has been changed to
Immigration Enthusiasts
That’s more descriptive and intelligible.

Mark - There is a lot of merit in what you say. I'm a fellow libertarian/Objectivist against open borders for all the same common-sense reasons. If you were moderated on OL because of your comments on Jews, know that I was at that time arguing against censorship of such views. I'm currently banned myself for alleged violations that are less than clear.

It might be worth pointing out that I said nothing about Jews in general or all Jews.  The last post preceding my (temporary) moderation on OL pointed out that sometimes the epithet “anti-semite” is used as a weapon to silence legitimate criticism of what some Jewish organizations do.  Ironic and validating.

Please stick to the subject of this thread.  If you want to talk to me about the above you can email me c/o ARI Watch.

Well, that's just untrue. You mentioned "Jews" a lot on Objectivist Living and in some pretty unflattering ways. I can provide links if you'd like.

But that's neither here nor there. You left a cryptic message about being moderated in your related thread on OL, and I was simply seeking clarification here.

Great.  Mark is an anti-semite, which is neither here nor there.

If the epithet refers to people who think AIPAC is a pack of traitors, then yes, I’m an anti-semite.

I’ll ignore future posts by Robert.  He can call me the Pope or Jimmy Crack Corn and I won’t care.

Mark - I think you're overly sensitive on this issue. I didn't accuse you of antisemitism, nor do I care whether you are or are not an antisemite. I was simply inquiring about your moderation because of a comment you made, that's all.
