I was wondering if someone could explain why Google is telling me that my searches on the site have been found to be sending automated traffic to Google. They say its because my machine may be infected with malware which I can accept and can deal with it. However, when I use a virtual machine I know cannot be infected I get the same result. When I use my Nook Color which cannot be infected I get the same result. If I use Explorer (because I am a Chrome user) and do a search on the machine Google just told me is sending automated traffic I get search results. The common thread causing the error seems to be Chrome.

I don't mean to litter the forum with this so I apologize but I don't get it.

If you are doing said searches from RoR's home page, they are powered by Google. Ignore this if you already know it.

This message is for Joe. I said I'd log any connection problems I had with ROR in hopes they would be of use to you.

If you know what the problems were, just ignore this whole message.
-----------------------

I attempted to preview a reply I was going to post. Clicked the Post Preview button under the text entry box and got this page instead: http://rebirthofreason.com/cgi-bin/SHQ/SHQ_Forum.cgi

Where it said:

Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to rebirthofreason.com
Suggestions:
Try reloading: rebirthofreason.com/cgi-bin/SHQ/SHQ_Forum.cgi

I tried it several times and got the same response. This was at 1:40 pm Arizona time (2:40 in California), 1/18. About two minutes later it worked.
---------------------------

A few minutes later I tried to go to the home page and got this instead:

Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to rebirthofreason.com
Try reloading: rebirthofreason.com
Additional suggestions:
Access a cached copy of rebirthofreason.com
Search on Google:

One minute later that problem disappeared.
------------------------------

It's 2:14 Arizona time. Same problem as the first - no preview of intended post.
I clicked the browser's reload button and got an ROR page that said, "Unknown Function in SHQ_Forum.cgi"
One minute later I did a back button to get to my Create Repy page, it showed up, and no more problems posting.
----------------------------------

2:19 Arizona time, unable to connect to ROR. Hit the Reload button and I got ROR.

1 minute later, unable to get ROR
----------------------------------

I tried to load ROR using Internet Explorer. Unable to and that browser supplied this info:
This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:
•Internet connectivity has been lost.
•The website is temporarily unavailable.
•The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
•The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
•There might be a typing error in the address.
•If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.

The problem wasn't local to me, because I had no problem interacting with other web sites.

This time ROR was unavailable for a much longer time. At 2:37pm I quit trying for awhile. I checked back every now and then, but no go till now, 3:40pm Arizona time.

Tim, I'm using Explorer, and get the same result when I ask to search this site for stuff I know is here.  Frustrating.   It used to work perfectly.

Whew - it's not me or my machine then. I thought I had some big monster malware problem lurking on my machine.
