| | I don't know the reason why I selected this movie, Jodhaa Akbar, from Netflix. I suspected it was from Ted but I can't find the reference. It is truly a breathtaking spectacle and has a theme that will appeal to objectivists — a benevolent ruler in the 1550s whose ambition is to unify Hindustan by peaceful means. This movie will be roundly condemned by Islamic militants because the hero is tolerant of all religions and even marries a Hindu while he is himself a Muslim. The scenery is gorgeous, the plot is on a heroic scale and the characters are believable.
Some viewers may criticize it for being too long (3 hrs 45min.) and for subtitles, but I found neither to be distracting. I recommend it, unreservedly.
