As far as I know, this Atlas Society page  has the most updated information and related links.

Thanks for the  link.  I don't see any recent updates there.  Anybody have any insider info the want to share?  I'll even settle for rumors! :)

IMDB works for me.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0480239/

Angelina Jolie is Dagny Taggart. Jamie Clay is John Galt. Who is Jamie Clay? (ba dum bum bum). Randall Wallace, a devout Christian, wrote the screenplay. The plot thickens.

Another nice update site is:

Randall Wallace, a devout Christian, wrote the screenplay.

The point about Randall Wallace is not that he's a devout Christian, but rather that he is an excellent screenwriter. Among other things, he wrote the screenplay for "Braveheart."

Miss Rand was as non-Christian as one can be, yet her screenplay of her own novel, "The Fountainhead," was not especially great. Novels and screenplays are two entirely different forms (think "symphony vs. string quartet"); ability in the former has little to do with ability in the latter.

The writer and the director will make or break this movie; not this or that actor in a leading role.

Hi Claude,

I wasn't blown away by the writing in Braveheart although the film was on an epic scale that I'd expect from Atlas Shrugged.  My worry was just that he'd weasel Christian themes into the Atlas Shrugged screenplay. However, I'm less worried now after having read two articles on how his Christianity influences his writing. See http://www.christianitytoday.com/movies/interviews/randallwallace.html & http://www.divinity.duke.edu/publications/2005.01/features/seekingtheholy/01.htm. It seems he shares with Rand a love for life and depiction of heroism.

From Below the Beltway for April 2, 2009:
The article goes on to note that producers would like to start before next year due to the fact that the movie rights will revert to Rand’s estate at that point, and they have been notoriously picky about what an Atlas movie would look like...
http://belowthebeltway.com/2009/04/02/atlas-shrugged-movie-update-2/

IMDB.com, the Internet Movie Database has this tagged as Atlas Shrugged (2011), referring to the date of release.

The Atlas Society has a page dedicated to the updates, Atlas the Film here.
