Kyoto Protocol compiled by un-elected global bureaucrats

Dr. Evil, Maurice Strong

An excerpt from the article:   In 1990, Strong told a reporter a fantasy scenario for the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland - where 1,000 diplomats, CEOs and politicians gather "to address global issues." Strong, naturally, is on the board of the World Economic Forum. "What if a small group of these world leaders were to conclude the principal risk to the earth comes from the actions of the rich countries?... In order to save the planet, the group decides: Isn't the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn't it our responsibility to bring this about?" That's Strong talking, but those are Blofeld's words coming out. But this is no fictitious Bond movie villain speaking - it is the man who chaired the Rio Earth Summit and who is Kofi Annan's senior adviser. "This group of world leaders forms a secret society to bring about an economic collapse," continued Strong, warming to his fantasy. "It's February. They're all at Davos. These aren't terrorists. "They're world leaders. They have positioned themselves in the world's commodities and stock markets. They've engineered, using their access to stock markets and computers and gold supplies, a panic. Then, they prevent the world's stock markets from closing. They jam the gears. They hire mercenaries who hold the leaders at Davos as hostage. The markets can't close..." Strong catches himself. "I probably shouldn't be saying things like this."

This is the nature of this abomination. In a previous thread I compared him to Ellsworth Toohey, but he's incomparably worse, and in real life.      Scary.

Sam, is there any independent conformation for any of this?

The guy sounds like a character out of Crichton's State of Panic. I'm just wary of blind webpages like this - it could very easily be a smear by an ex employee - or the awful truth.

Ted: I don't know of any actual confirmation of the quoted anecdote but it is consistent with the character of this turkey. It originates with a journalist, Daniel Wood, who spent a week with Strong on his ranch. Maurice Strong is perhaps the most dangerous man on the planet.

Wikipedia, Maurice Strong

Maurice Strong: The New Guy in Your Future

Maurice Strong has demonstrated an uncanny ability to manipulate people, institutions, governments, and events to achieve the outcome he desires. Through his published writings and public presentations he has declared his desire to empower the U.N. as the global authority to manage a new era of global governance. He has positioned his NGO triumvirite, the IUCN, WWF, and the WRI, to varnish U.N. activity with the perception of "civil society" respectability. And now he has been appointed Senior Advisor to the U.N. Secretary General and assigned the responsibility of reforming the United Nations bureaucracy. The fox has been given the assignment, and all the tools necessary, to repair the henhouse to his liking.

Myth Makers, Strong Dreams and the Foundations They Rest upon.

And he showed that at that Rio Air Summit and at the World Bank Meeting as well, where he’s on about the rights of all the animals and insects and trees and the weeds etc. And when someone asked him, he noticed in this Rio Charter basically, there’s nothing to say about the rights of humans, just trees. And Strong replied, in a very angry manner: “When we’re finished you’ll wish you had the rights of a tree.” These are the characters, who are unelected by anybody on the planet. These are the real movers and shakers, behind the politicians or above them, who run the NGOs of the planet (all the greenies whatever else they are).  (Emphasis mine)

Our Man in North Korea

Daniel Wood wrote about Strong in an article entitled The Wizard of the Baca Grande (West Magazine, Alberta, Canada, May 1990): "From an interview with Council of the World Economic Forum co-chairman Maurice Strong, in which he outlines the plot of a novel, `he would love to compose if only he could write.’

The Wizard of Baca Grande

Page 14 describes Daniel Wood's experience in Strong's private ranch in Colorado.

wow, what a disgusting scumbag he is - even look at the other crap he did.  I don't think he will do more than aggrandize himself in the long run, but he is worth watching carefully for sure, and opposing on all fronts.

Here's another snippet, and there seems to be much more low-hanging fruit.

Pay To The Order Of Maurice Strong  (about half way down)

strong_chq_thumbnail.jpg

A copy of a cheque for the sum of $988,850.00 to Maurice Strong, from Korean businessman Tongsun Park. Mr. Park was apprehended last week on a flight to Panama from Canada - which he was allowed to board, despite being listed on Interpol - on charges stemming from the UN Oil-For-Food investigation. He's currently in US custody, having been denied bail as a high flight risk.
In December a Congressional report called for an investigation into Maurice Strong, mentor to Prime Ministers, member of the Privy Council, architect of Kyoto, creator of CIDA, former Senior Advisor to Kofi Annan, and the man who made PetroCanada possible.
Peter Foster , in the Financial Post - Jan13;
Last Friday's arrest of Korean businessman Tongsun Park in connection with the United Nations Oil- For-Food scandal inevitably brings super-envirocrat Mr. Strong back into the limelight, much, no doubt, to the Liberals' chagrin.
Mr. Park has been fingered as funnelling funds from the Iraqi regime to influence UN officials. One is Mr. Strong. It may be, as Mr. Strong claims, that he saw no connection between the million laundered dollars he received from Mr. Park to help bail him out of a sticky situation and Mr. Park's pro-Iraqi activities, but the fact that Mr. Strong is perennially involved in sticky business situations is surely material. After all, Mr. Strong wants to mastermind a new bureaucratic world order that would manage literally everything. And since "secret agendas" are all the rage with the increasingly desperate Liberals, the Prime Minister's connection with mentor and business partner Mr. Strong deserves a good airing.

Now, read the rest.
