I once read that when we die,we cant loose the the past or the future as they don't exist, and what we lose is the the moment now.
I think thats right,my friend doesn't.
What say you?

Brian,

Did your friend offer any reason for his position?

Your premise of 'no future' precludes the eventuality of death altogether. Your "when we die" language is framed as if the past gives way to the future yet you deny human continuum.

Your proposition is contradictory. Does that sound right to you?

Sarah...she simply says, that she books a ticket for a plane next wed.and that what one expects of that comes to pass...largely.For me,if what you want to happen in the future and it does, doesn't prove that the future exist.

Rick,does next week exist now?

You address what I said and I'll do the same for you.

But you're bonkers, you know that?

Rick if you say I am bonkers, then it must be so.
I didn't say there was no future, just that it didn't exist now, which can not be denied. So your human continuum doesn't come into it.
I will have another go,we bonkers people do that as you know.
The point was, what is it we lose when we shuffle off the old mortal, time wise.
And the quotation was,as I remember it was, that all we lose is the moment,or now.
The past does not exist nor the future,so how can we lose it.

I think tomorrow does exist today, though it's always a day away. Likewise, next week and the whole rest of the calendar exist. Does that set me up for some kind of trap you mean to spring?

we cant loose the the past or the future as they don't exist
I didn't say there was no future, just that it didn't exist now

Sorry about that. So we do have a future. Got ya.

The past does not exist nor the future,so how can we lose it.

Sorry about that. So we don't have a future. Got ya.

That being the case, there can be no change, no 'when we die'. Either this or there is such a thing as death, and change, and future. So which is it? Future or immortality? Something's got to give.

Its potentiality  - for you - exists, tho its reality, as part of the continum of the universe, remains a fact [as per 'existence exists' ]...

[because it's an aspect of the dynamic duration of the universe]
