Re your last 'wondering,' given we're talking about feelings-of-(supposed)-'privacy' in a governmentally-supervised 'public' (would you have it any other way, re London?) place, my answer is: more people now, obviously (the 'war's *over-there*, right?) than will be after one of several/many literally IS 'blown up' in a NY (rather than London) subway.
Clearly, though, not enough NY'rs wish to referendum that 'authorities' be restricted from entering the subway system...for some strange reason. Maybe somebody (like, the commuter) could try to get a petition going as well as media-complaining to loaded-question 'reporters'?
