It takes courage to face the reality of death and to realize that it is your life until then that is the only thing that will ever matter in the vast time/space scheme of the universe. It takes courage to laugh in the face of death -- so to speak. To this I would add: it takes courage to really live, most people are not even alive, sometimes we have to stick the mirror under their nose. I've always thought the atheism with a healthy consciousness that learns to attack the challenges of life, and enjoy the attacking, is always a million times more spiritual then any religion. Spiritualize the physical. The only true spiritual person in my eyes is one who always puts this world and life first, because there are no others.
