And I forgot to add...I'm not huffing and puffing.

And you are not voicing a suspicion.

You are advocating mass murder based on a suspicion.

That's where our agreement ends. You think its ok, and I do not.

Orion, no matter what arguments you have presented here, on any thread, they do not erase the very simple reality that two people does not an entire religion make.  That is the crux of the argument.  What part isn't clear?  Whether there are two Muslim spies in government, a thousand Muslim suicide bombers in small towns, or a million militant Muslim psychopaths hiding in caves, this is not an argument for wiping out every last Muslim on earth.

This principle has been stated clearly, and so many times that at this point that I have to agree with Mr. Bisno as to the level of absurdity and paranoia this argument has reached.

Scott,

Look, you and I both know what your main need is here... it's to economize energy.  You dread the notion of living in fear of an entire religion, because it's energetically draining, even though most of the arrows point in that direction.

So, yes... I could sit here like a circus poodle and jump through each and every flaming hoop you hold up for me, in the form of exhausting myself to find more and ever-more evidenciary cases of sabotage and espionage by Muslims within the United States.

You and I both know that you would dismiss all of these as "not really meaning anything bigger"... because you already have a pre-agenda going in:  to economize, to endorse the viewpoint that allows you to conserve the most energy, even if it's a false viewpoint that's dangerous to all our lives in the long run.

Jennifer,

I see no paranoia on my part... What I do see is a horrifying and catastrophically endangering degree of naivete on your part, and most everyone else's.

Another thing that is utterly infuriating, is that I'll bet that none of you has even read through an actual Koran, or even investigated the book in any way...

You have way whatsoever to know what sorts of things it actually instructs in that book!

And yet you have the sheer conceit to pretend to know what Islam is really capable of!

You people think you're "right", because there's one of me, and a bunch of you... And that if you can keep recruiting people to join in denouncing me, your "rightness" will increase. *L*

Well, tell me this, then... How many Galileo's did it take to be right, when the rest of the world was just plain wrong?  How many Darwin's?

The examples go on and on... But the point here is this:  Consensus does not make truth.

Are you sure you people are Objectivists?

Well then... I guess I've been aiming too high, when I all ever needed to say was:

Nanny nanny boo boo, stick your head in doo-doo.

That's obviously more your speed.

I've read it, well parts of it anyway. I've seen some horrific things in there. But we need to put this in context-- if you intend to damn a religion for what its predominant text says, you would have to kill all the christians and all the jews also. Have you ever read the old testament? It's every bit as whacky and every bit as violent as the Koran is.

There are practicing Muslims in my family, that are peaceful freedom-loving people. To me, they have been generous, good-natured, usually rational, and high spirited. They have names. They have aspirations. One who is my age is studying journalism. Another one who is a bit younger than I am is studying medicine. Their parents are US citizens (one by birth who is my mom's cousin and the other by choice). The mother has even read (and enjoyed) Atlas Shrugged. Do you want part of my family dead, Mr. Reasoner? I want an answer. Yes or no.

Adam, Of course he wants them dead. He just can't be sure that they aren't waiting to slit his throat. Oh, and it's there fault too.

Orion--didnt you write a SOLO article on Islam? and the contents of the Koran?????

Retire the delusions of grandeur. Galileo, you aint.

And try accepting the proposition that you have nothing but spotty anecdotal evidence for your argument and move on. You aren't going to sway anyone by being nasty and citing the capture of the occasional Muslim spy.

You conclusions are based on whim. You...you....you WORSHIP these WHIMS!!!!!!!!!

YOU WHIM-WORSHIPPER!!!

Anyway, I dispute your groundless accusation that I am looking to spare energy in dealing with militant Islam. Don't know where you got that idea.

But I have acheived my 2 points in engaging you. First, we can confirmed that you are indeed in favor of the wholesale murder of any "Muslim" of any stripe, regardless whether any motive, plan or action indicts them. This is especially interesting because your position here is at odds withe your recent SOLO article "The Non-Initiation of Force," wherein you write:

"Once an enemy expresses the belief that we should be attacked, that is the core... the germ... the want. But when the actual beginning of that want is made easier through actual planning and organizing, then it has been initiated.

At this point, the attack has actually been initiated, and we do not violate our non-initiation of force rule by attacking them."

Oops. Guess you were wrong in that article--no plans necessary. Just membership in a group.

Second, I have confirmed that your BASIS for this genocidal preference of yours is not evidence, but rather isolated anecdotes, gut feeling and a paranoid desire to lash out at any potential aggressor. I'd suggest you re-read your own article.
