Pete,

As I was turning over my thoughts in the limited time I now have, to answer this question, the point you have raised turned out to be part of my reason. Of course, some rock musicians do write out their music, and do use their classical training for their purposes. But there is still some validity to that point.

Just off the top of my head, another, larger part of it is that I do not think the rock style is a good expression of Ayn Rand’s sense of life—no matter what the lyrics to the songs are. That’s all I’ll say for now.
