I ran a forum about liberty too, and had so many problems with a French Troll called Tremblay, that I had to close the forum down. I think someone else was complaining about him here too. He kept attacking America, and throwing so much flame that the whole board became unreadable. My solution was to end the board. Well, at least it stopped the troll!

Are you referring to the same Tremblay that posts here? If so, then I disagree. I have never read more intelligent posts in my life.

Keep up the good work Tremblay!

1. Sorry, but I didn't think "America" was exempt -- when US government policy deserves to be attacked. The idea that only "orthodox" opinions about (of all things) a GOVERNMENT -- would not be 'tolerated' on a so-called "liberty board" is....well it's a bit hypocritical, don't you think?
Also, if your "solution" to dealing with "unacceptable" opinions (!!!) was to "shut down the board", then it's pretty obviously that you didn't have that much commitment to "liberty" anyway, and your board is no loss whatsoever.
There really ARE things I hate more than Leftists -- for example, pseudo-Libertarians who indulge in "ideological censorship" of the kind you're describing.
(Next, you're going to be advocating that we order 'freedom fries" at our local fast-food joint, right? The stuff you advocated is what gives patriotism a bad name.)

Mindless aquiescence of whatever "your" government does is unworthy of a Libertarian (or anybody with a halfway decent commitment to "liberty"), and -- (correct me if I'm wrong) -- dissenting viewpoints are the whole REASON we have "freedom of speech". Only in ideological freedom, can we ever HOPE to figure out what the right answers are, to the "big questions".

Francois says it how he says it: he doesn't pull any punches, and sometimes doesn't "play nice". So what? The fact that he actually (god forbid!) dissagrees with US government policy obviously brands him as worthy of being tied to a stake and burnt alive.

yeah, whatever.

Well, I haven't seen his posts, so I don't know. But our Tremblay was a noisy intellect who thought America should be made into France. Very obnoxious character. Does that sound like him?

Really, I don't understand why certain people feel the need to bring their "flame-wars" in from other boards. You seem to want to stir up some controversy by slandering somebody who hasn't done anything to merit such treatment (as far as any of us can tell.)

That's fine. All I can say is that your "liberty forum" must have been a real treat: I mean, how better to aid the cause of Liberty, than by agreeing solemnly with everything the U.S. government ever does, and casting ethnic slurs at any "frogs" who happen to come on the board? Real nice commitment to "liberty" there, buddy....an inspiration to us all!

The only troll I've noticed here lately, go by the name "Jason".

Yea, the LibertyForums are dominated by those two trolls, because of the low traffic there. Not much I can do about it. At least here I know I can discuss sensibly with someone else without being trolled.

Hey, Henry Emrich, I didn't mean to bash frogs. I can see that this is the right Tremblay, and since he is happy here, I will bow out.
I bid you both a jew.

Jason:
"Bid you A Jew?"
That's just pathetic. Is that the best you can come up with? Ethnic slurs against somebody because of French ancestry, mixed with sneering condescention about how you can "see it's the right Tremblay?"
As I said: the only thing worse than "Politically-correct" censorship from the Left wing, is pseudo-Libertarian "patriotic" censorship from the Right. You are obviously a poseur, and you probably SHOULD "bow out". (Actually, bow DOWN to your intellectual --- and moral -- betters.)
We are at least TRUE to our own values, to the best of our ability. You are a noisy, irrelevant troll. Don't feel bad, we get quite a lot of folks like you here (anybody seen "supreme chairman", Steve, or Coyote lately??) The only reason nobody's bothered to completely trounce you, is because you're not even clever enough to be entertaining.
(At least if you were interesting, we could have fun making you look stupider than you already do.)

Slink on back to whatever wannabe-libertarian muthouse you came from. It's probably time for your electroshock treatments.

Yknow....maybe Supreme Chairman wasn't that bad (at least he was funny)

Well said, Henry ! I'm glad we have you and Franc here, to deal with those trolls. How can we have sensible discussion otherwise ? Keep up the good work my friends.

Okay, I get the message, but before I go, I'll just say one last thing - the bid you a jew thing was only because I don't speak french, and can't spell that french word, however it is spelt. As for tremblay, Emrich, and others here, how the hell was I supposed to know this was some kind of haven for French Troll? It doesn't exactly spell it out in the front page. If I had known it was full of Frenchies, of course I would have stayed well clear.

And with that, I will bid you one last jew.

1. Jason: since when was unreasoning ethnic slurs, and unquestioning "whatever the US government does is just fine", a legitimate viewpoint for Libertarians?
I suppose you think that the "Patriot act" is just fine too, or the TIPS program ("inform on your friends and family for fun and profit!")
Somebody get me some dramamine, before I barf all over myself.

It doesn't MATTER that Francois is French (canadian). What? You want us to put up a "no damned dirty frogs" sign? You think this board should be SEGREGATED on the basis of ethnicity?
And, oh wow, actually disagreeing with a GOVERNMENT POLICY -- how damned dishonorable can you be??? (Gee, Jason, I thought the "my country, right or wrong" mentality was only suitable for Pat Buchannan, and people like that. How nice to see it in full, verdant bloom on a 'libertarian' board.)

You have to admit though, the French trolls are definately amongst the worst. At the moment there is a little angst between the US and France, which probably explains it. In the end though, I would have to side with the French - probably because I am also French Canadian, so I guess that makes me biased. I don't agree with much of what Franc or Henry have to say, but then, as long as they are French I will put up with them. Perhaps when they get to be my age (just turned 22) they will probably have different views about a lot of stuff. I would have agreed with everything they say about five years ago, but then, it was a thrilling time of philosophy and experimental thought in school. Now that I'm out in the real world, I have grown my views to match. Well, that's my two cent's worth anyway.

Okay, Marc, just a little hint here:
If you're going to make stupid mis-characterizations, at least have SOME idea of what you're talking about:

1. "french trolls are the worst, thought" -- yeah, okay, fine. So when do we start hearing rhetoric about "niggers" and "wops" and "kikes?" You seem REALLY willing to characterize people on the basis of ethnic ancestry. Y'know what they call it when somebody does that? Racism. Do you think Racism is stupid, Marc? I honestly don't know if you do.

2. "I don't agree with what Franc or Henry say, but if they're FRENCH, I guess I have to support them".--- Yeah, cute. "French Power!
What about the idea that you support somebody's right to dissagree with you (and SPEAK OUT on that disagreement), whether they're from your particular Collective or not? Yeah, sure....back somebody just because they're from the same gene-pool as you are.
Pathetic, again.
(Of course, add to this the fact that I'm NOT "french", or even French-Canadian. If you REALLY think it matters, then I am MOSTLY German-ancestry, with a touch of French, 2 generations back on my Mother's side.
(Wow, I guess that makes all the difference, right? I guess I have a "French Genetic predisposition" towards having semi-literate imbeciles like yourself 'support' my viewpoint.
I don't really see how one person can be as STUPID as you are, Marc. Check your premises: So far you have managed to get EVERYTHING wrong.
Let's see how you do on the THIRD claim you make:

3. "Maybe when they get to be MY age(22 Yrs. old), They'll REALLY wise up!" -- Again, mistaken.
Francois is 25 years old. I am 30. That makes HIM 3 years older than you, and ME eight years older (not that age, in and of itself, makes any difference whatsoever.) Trying to pin down our viewpoint to "well, they just haven't spent time in the 'real world' is stupid too. You know absolutely nothing about my life, and for you to attempt to read that sort of shit into it is -- well, if I didn't believe that Non-initiation of force was the right option, I'd have to punch your face in.
Marc, you can have yout "two cents" back -- save it up, and get yourself some brains.
And in the intervening time-period, please TRY not to do or say anything TOO stupid.

Racism = stupid.
"ethnic solidarity" = stupid.
"false personal information about others" = REALLY stupid.

Wow. That was just pathetic.
You may have had a "really thrilling time of philosophical discovery" back when you were in school. Too bad the only things you discovered were how to be a dimwit.

Your generalizations are baffling. It wasn't until I was out in "the real world" that I came to appreciate the basic concepts of objectivism. Now, at age 36, I find it hard to believe just how erroneous my thinking was back when I was 22 and younger.
